What The Hell Is A Reverse Squeeze Page

Hey guys,

I just learned about this thing called A Reverse Squeeze Page - I don't see many people doing it. In fact, I have never seen anyone doing it.

I just Googled it and there aren't many available sources explaining the concept behind it and why it works

    here you go:

seems like you would give a 'sampler'

Goes like this, the prospect lands on:

useful but incomplete content part 1 (click to part 2):

useful but incomplete content part 2 (click to part 3):

    Want Part 3? Then subscribe..

never used one myself. I wonder if it would work with ppv traffic.

Well I suppose it depends who you're asking. Something that really pisses me off is those prompts when I'm leaving a page. I have no idea what they're called however I find them really annoying,

You mean Exit-Intent Offers? they sometimes work great for List building, most of the times your visitors will never comeback to your website, so these Prompts are your last chance to get that visitor to give you his Email address.

Of course, they are annoying sometimes, but I think they are less annoying than Pop-ups, but I'm NOT sure about these Reverse Squeeze Page thing, the guy in the video above said that it has a conversion rate of more than 85%!!

I have used them in the past and although your opt-ins will be lower it helps you to build a list of more valuable subscribers. The way that it works is instead of making the person viewing your page subscribe first you give them value and then ask them to sign up.

From doing this I have realized that it is easier for me to sell things to the people on my list. The reason is if they are willing to go through the pages it means that they want to hear from you and that you didn't force them into getting your offer.

The old way of doing a squeeze page meant that you have to offer them something for them to give you their email address. What happens these days is that people have seen them so much that they've create emails that they use just to do this and then never check back again.

By giving them value upfront with a reverse squeeze page they begin to like you before they even give you their email address. When they do decided to give you their email they are already warm to you and will open most of the emails that you send.

        It looks like this:

        - Offer some value first
        - Must opt-in to continue to get more value
-Opens your emails because they like you and not for the free thing that you were offering.

Using a reverse squeeze page will help you to filter out the real people from the people that will just waste your time.

        Hope that helps.

          Thanks oppyeaunome,

It looks like this Reverse Squeeze Page thing is indeed a very good strategy to get more qualified leads and weed out the freebie seekers who mostly use Fake eMails and who only want your offer and they will never open, click or buy from you.

Right now - I'm thinking of applying this in a way that wouldn't piss of my visitors and make them think that I'm manipulating them or something...

... I'm thinking of applying this RSP concept to create a long form Squeeze page similar to a mini sales page, and keep the CTA at the bottom of the page to warm up Leads,

          What do you think?

This is absolutely spot on. If you want to get rid of the freebie whores and build a higher quality, albeit lower opt in rate... Take this advice.

You'll keep your autoresponder bill down and have a much more responsive list who are very interested in what you have to offer.

          Great post!

never tried it, that why you should test it with paid traffic.

go to any supermarket and you get a free sampler, is it going to fill your belly? Hell No,

but some might buy the product.

    listen, this is very important,

whatever you DO is going to piss off someone, youre not looking to please everyone.

ANYBODY with a list will tell you this

Let the data determine your next action.

A reverse SP is just another tool. Depending on the niche, where the traffic is coming from, etc..

these factors will determine how they react. All you can do is test and track....

Something else you have to consider is the respect you have for your Visitors. You're either there to squeeze every penny out of them or provide them with genuine value. Although it's just my opinion, I don't like some of these tactics

100% RIGHT! However, I don't see how a Reverse SP is disrespectful? It's an exchange, your email for my content.

The only way it would be disrespectful is if your content was trash and useless.

Come to think of it, wouldn't a traditional SP be more along the lines of what you're talking about.

I mean, with a R.SP at least you get to try the content before you commit.

With a traditional SP you get a promise, who the hell knows what the marketers autoresponder is going to send your way.

        EXAMPLE:
Besides IM im in the baby shower niche. I have a squeeze page where I promise 16 unique printable baby shower games.

I send them 16 amazing games based on the most searched items on google keyword planner.

If I wanted to however I could just send them 16 copyright free pieces of junk with no color or theme to them. It's up to me.

With a RSP they could get two or three games and based on the quality decided to optin and get the rest.

The more I write about this the more I want to try a reverse squeeze page

Well that's a great example of providing genuine value to your Market.
          : )

And if you can do that with a squeeze page/reverse squeeze page/Bruce Lee squeeze page, more power to you.

Excellent answer right here, thanks! there's no way to please everyone, only what works and what doesn't. And that's where the data comes in.

And like you said Jonathan nobody wants to feel disrespected. We should all empathize with the people we encounter online and off.

And you're right, ppl do trest other ppl like sh#t, especially online.

My defense of an RSP is more of a byproduct of my stance as marketers to test & track.

I first learned about it from Andre Chaperon. You basically make your visitor go through a couple of pages of content before presenting them with an optin page. The theory behind it is that you only bring the most targeted subscribers onto your email.

I've tried it and I did get high open rates from it, but I didn't see much of a difference from just a normal squeeze page. Plus its hard making the content engaging on a reverse squeeze page to make them go through all of the pages.

Like many legitimate tactics, the disrespect and its consequences are more a result of execution than the tactic itself.

Use the RSP well, and people will thank you by signing up. Use it badly and people will click away so fast their mouse will melt.

Jeff Walker has built an online empire using his concept of the "sideways sales letter", where you deliver the best content you can, and then giving people the opportunity to buy more. The best example I can think of is Jeff's annual launch for his PLF course.

As I see it, the Reverse Squeeze Page is similar, with the payoff being the opt-in rather than a sale.

Been doing it for many years, along with thousands of other marketers.
