How do I put together an order page like this?

I'm currently using 1SC, but I'd like to host my own checkout pages. The type of checkout page I'd like to emulate is this
moneymastersseries.com/order.php
I'm just curious how the technical details work with the payment information and connection to the payment gateway. Is it simply a coding issue that any decent coder takes care of? Or are there standard scripts that are used for this type of thing?
I didn't buy the product, but I'm sure you're going to see a one-click upsell if you do. Is that just a custom-coded piece too or are there pre-made scripts out there that get customized? I'm using a one-click upsell script with 1SC, but that's obviously built for that only.
