Anyone sell in Brazil?

I am marketing director for a small arts supply company trying to enter the Brazilian market. We are having trouble trying to figure out how to accept payments in Reals.

PayPal doesn't offer the option of accepting Reals. It only allows dollars and euros, and this seems to be a problem for most prospective buyers.

This is too bad, because our products have a lot of demand in Brazil. Does anyone have any advice to offer for how a small US company can accept payments in Brazil?

Thanks very much in advance.

John

Have you ever heard about PagSeguro? Sort of a Brazilian PayPal. It's very reliable -- the company behind it (UOL) is the biggest internet access provider in Brazil.

Apparently you need a bank account in Brazil to withdraw the money, so this may defeat the purpose...

Do you speak Portuguese? Let me know if I can help with anything else: slov _ br [at] hotmail.

    Hi John,

I'd also recommend PagSeguro. I spent some time integrating them with DLGuard (and no, I don't speak Portuguese, so it was an interesting operation!).

So if you're looking for a security and download management system for PagSeguro, check out: DLGuard - Download page protector, create expiring download links

It's the only one that I know of that integrates with them.

    cheers
