Analyzing Niche Website

IN my niche website analysis I found a generic product that has 9900 search a month. I found the EMD domain. All the top 10 competitor havent optimize the url or title h1, h2 so, that is a good sign I think.
The top 10 results are big stores like tesco, amazon, argos, halsfors...
the question is: Is that a green light to start building the niche site and gain some traffic to monetize it (affiliate or adsense?) What would be your suggestion on then strategy?
