Another HUGE Blow For The "PTC" Industry!

I know there are a lot of people who aren't fond of PTC, or "paid to click" sites like Neobux, but I have made a fair amount of money in this industry and I've also added thousands of subscribers to my lists using PTC sites. Let me tell you, these subscribers are NOT junk like a lot of people think.

If you are in the MMO niche, these are hot leads because they are people who are looking to make money online. I know several folks who have made thousands from Neobux as well. They've done it by referring hundreds of people to the site.

At any rate, back on July 14th of this year, I started a thread called "PTC Sites Going The Way Of The Dinosaur?"

The reason for that thread was that a HUGE player in the PTC industry called Clixsense had announced that they were abandoning their PTC ad model for paid surveys and other "get paid to" offers.

One of the main reasons was that PayPal was no longer willing to service the PTC industry. I can understand this completely since it pains me to say that yes, there is a ton of fraud that goes on in the PTC industry. The main problem is that PTC sites will launch, take payments for ads, and end up closing in the blink of an eye. Most people lose a small amount of money and maybe end up not getting paid out for ads they have clicked on.

However, quite recently, there was a enormous issue with a site called Traffic Monsoon. It's alleged that more than 162,000 investors were defrauded of over $200,000,000. Yup. That's MILLIONS. The SEC got involved and alleged that the site was a Ponzi scheme and closed it down. As far as I know, the case is still being litigated. You can read the SEC complaint here:

https://www.sec.gov/litigation/litre...16/lr23604.htm

My reason for posting today is that I was just notified via email that another giant in the PTC industry is closing down after 9 years in business.

It's not a PTC site, but they have a very close relationship with PTC sites as they run a PPC network that places ads on many PTC sites.

It's a site called Adhitz. Some of you may have heard of them. I've used them as recently as last week to run PPC ads and have been using them for years. I've gotten loads of great leads from there and made many sales form the leads I acquired running ads there. I used to pay around .10 for clicks from the US/Canada.

Here's the email I just received from them:

Subject: End of service announcement

Members, this announcement is to notify you that on December 1st, 2017 AdHitz will be going offline permanently.

With the loss of Paypal in March of this year and with our close affiliation with PTC, it has become it's extremely hard to operate this business. We did try to get different merchant accounts but because of the high risk nature of our business, the cost per transaction rate was much too high and it would not be feasible for us to offer this form of payment.

Along with this, the upcoming changes to European privacy concerns (GDPR) we feel it's best to take AdHitz offline. We want to thank each and every one of you for a very successful 9 years in business and we wish all of you continued success.

We will stop all active site and network ads on November 30th and we will stop selling advertising and allowing new websites immediately. We will issue refunds for any remaining balances of these campaigns. All payments will be completed on or shortly after December 20th, 2017.

Thank you
The AdHitz Team
I think this really sucks. You know what they say, though. Everything changes and you have to adapt.

I'm just really surprised. I know I used to spend at least $200 per month with them myself. They only accept payment by Payza, but that's not that much of a big deal. I had no problem loading my Payza account and paying them that way.

I've heard that there are issues with a lot of banks from the US not allowing transactions with Payza because it's not a US based company. Maybe this is what happened. Many people were not able to easily make payment anymore, and so they abandoned the site for other options.

It's not the end of the world, but I always hate when I lose a good traffic source that was bringing me lots of leads.

It's also kind of sentimental things, because when I first started delving into how to make money online, one of the first ways I made money was through PTC sites. So there's that also.

I guess I'm just going to have to come to terms with the fact that the PTC industry is on the way out.

Yet again, it's a matter of a few bad actors destroying something for the people who were doing it right.

Adhitz, it's been a great run. I'm sure gonna miss ya

I didn't want to start a new thread about this subject, so that's why I'm bringing this one back up.

I received an email from Adhitz a few days ago saying that after they announced they were shutting down, they received several offers to buy them out, and they have a new owner now and will NOT be shutting down.

What's more, they are able to accept PayPal again!

Of course, I had made a couple of videos showing how I get loads of subscribers from their ads while paying around .07 per click, and I went ahead and deleted them from my S3 account right after they made the announcement they were closing down!

Between the two videos there was about 90 minutes worth of instruction. DAMN!

Lesson learned: NEVER throw anything away that you are not 100% sure you will never need again!

    Received 12-14-17:

Members, Paypal has been reactivated and is now available for advertising purchases and will also be used for monthly publisher payouts. We will continue to use Payza for both ad purchases and publisher payouts as well.

The sale of AdHitz is still moving forward as we're just waiting on some final paperwork. We hope we can finalize the sale within the coming week. The new ownership will make an announcement to introduce themselves and they have a lot planned for the future of AdHitz.

We want to thank you for your continued support.

Oh you know about them too, huh?

It's not a "secret" but yeah, great source of leads for the "make money online" niche. I've been using them since 2010.

I had put quite a bit of work (about 12 hours or so) into creating a nice video course about them, and like a BIG FAT IDIOT I went and deleted the ONLY copies of the videos from my S3 account after I got the email saying they were shutting down!

I had 2 videos and one was about 55 minutes long and the other about 45 minutes. I covered everything from how to use the site itself, the right kind of funnel to create, how to make effective banners, text ads, what sites to advertise on for the best results, etc.

I keep sitting down at the computer to redo the course, and for some reason I get a few minutes in and then I lose motivation and end up working on something else.

Maybe it's for the best. Maybe I should wait a while and make sure that PayPal is gonna stick and that the new owners will be able to keep it in business. Or, maybe I shouldn't bother at all and just keep it ALL to myself. Bwahahahahahahaha

Wow, after creating such lengthy training videos, that REALLY sucks, Chris! I am sure there's more than a few people that would buy a course like that.

If you ever re-create it let me know when you launch bro.

        Cheers, Dean.

Wow, this is insane. What's crazy is that I used to be a big user of ptc sites when I was younger... but I never advertised, I was in it for the money.

So Adhitz is good for advertising eh...? Thanks for that. I'll take my time investigating into that as well as other ptc sites.

If I ever decide to shoot my shot in the mmo niche, this is very helpful information as ptc sites have been getting a bad reputation lately... almost as bad as plr (but that is a whole different conversation [apples and oranges]).

Adhitz is not a PTC site.

They sell pay per click advertising, but a lot if the sites in their network are PTC sites.

The PTC industry is absolutely loaded with great prospects in the MMO niche. Many of them are newbies just starting out on their MMO journey.

If you can help them to make money and earn their trust and respect you can gain many regular customers.

It's been one of my "ninja" list building method since 2010. I have not advertised with them for a couple of months because they announced that they were shutting down.

They sold it instead and are staying open.

The secret to success with them is having the right funnel and banners.
