Options for Online Forum with lots of picture posts

Hi,
I am interested in starting an online forum for home gardeners. The posts would involve sharing lots of pictures and videos tutorials. Would the picture posts slow down the website?
Is it a good idea to host it like a standalone website or keep it as a facebook group.

What would we the best way to do this? Please advise, warriors!
Thank you and have a nice day

You can make your standalone website with it. With the images, just make sure that those images are using the correct file format. Remember that TIFF and BMP images take lots of time to load so you need to minimize your file size too. Large size photos can make your site load slower and that will affect your site's SEO. So use smaller size images to shorten load time so that your users won't get frustrated since your site is image-heavy.

I think it's a brilliant idea to start your own niche forum while everybody get lost in social media crap. the best way to is to get start hosting your website on a shared server then move from there to dedicated server as your traffic grows.
    Good luck
