what happened to all the warriors?

Hello fellow warriors,

I have been on this site since 2012 off and on, as I also run a real business (marketing), and also come on here from time to time to LEARN a thing or two, however recently I came back here as this is a gold mine for clever warriors and people sharing gold nuggets that can literally make you a ton of dough, only to see that the sites traffic has significantly died.

I mean there's still people like you and me on here ONLY a lot less of us.

my question is:

where did all the warriors go?

did they switch to facebook groups? (if so what groups?)

where they abducted? (by whom?)

Was it Aliens?

Did they give up and go back to regular 9 to 5 life?

Did they give up on making money with the internet?


Whatever the answer, this place is amazing and just using the search bar alone is worth $100's if not $1000's of dollars...

Just ONE of my past students from when I used to do coaching back in the day recently went from 9 to 5 to approaching the 1 million dollar mark in revenue for his business.

All thanks to this awesome forum...

I'd hate for this place to dry up and be another DP.

So where is everyone hanging out at?

    Sorry - but gotta chuckle. Your post is similar to a couple other recent threads that ask 'what happened here' ...though yours is curious rather than accusatory.



    Here's an example of where people 'went': You posted one time in 2016...other than that, its been 4+ years since you participated on this forum. That's fine - it's up to members to decide how much to participate here...but why did you stop posting? Chances are others had similar reasons.

      These casual, too busy and too successful to bother posting here Warriors, come to lament the demise of the forum. It is a chuckle, I guess.

      Yet, here we find guys like savidge4, a serial entrepreneur who has sold businesses for 7 figures, who runs several businesses, a VERY BUSY guy, still has the time to post here on a routine basis in an effort to help the Warriors out.

      Claude, Jason, Kurt, Professorado, Ewen, Ryan, Kay, Marcia and dozens of other Warriors are HERE. Contributing.

      They haven't disappeared. They are busy too. Many have achieved the goals so many Warriors want to reach, and they share their experiences.

      There is nothing wrong with the people who are here, albeit, the owners, managers and current admins seem to be without a compass on the open seas of the Internet. The below decks crew is contributing, teaching, educating, and helping those who just don't come here to whine about the state of WF.

      I don't grin, chuckle or laugh at these TIME WASTERS who show up every now and then and bemoan the lack of contribution. Where they, could be, sharing their expertise which has made them and their many students so successful...oh, but they don't have time for that.

      They do have time to post about their opinions how the WF ain't what it used to be.

      Never going back to what it was. Either get on board or get off.

      But there isn't any reason to DISRESPECT those who have been here, stayed through the storms, continue to help, advise and contribute.

      So go away already if this isn't your cup of tea anymore and leave those of us who are still here, in peace and quiet.

      WE all know what the problems, and downside of the WF are, bitching and moaning doesn't help, and for almost 5 years, FL, and admins have asked us what we think...and have consistently ignored our suggestions.

      They don't really concern themselves with us. But we can concern ourselves with our fellow warriors, as many of us have done, and continue to do why so many are off gallivanting the Internet getting rich and working 20 hour days.

    Every "oldtimer" (anyone that has been an active member since before the changeover) knows that the place is a shadow of its former self. That's not saying anything negative against Freelancer. It's just the absolute truth. And anyone that denies it or tries to pooh-pooh that fact away has some sort of agenda or is delusional or both.

    I agree with the gold mine part. Just like when digging for real gold, though, you have to sift and sort out things to make sure you aren't being led astray but the gold is still here.

    Probably a little of all the above. I think many gave up on the dream. Some have reached the dream and while they don't post publicly much but they still keep tabs on what's happening.

    The Warrior Forum is still a standard in a lot of people's minds but that status isn't so much what it is today but what it was. Since it's a past tense kind of standard, the memories continue to fade in importance and new standards emerge.

    Again, not bashing anyone, but it will. Without people like you and others sharing their knowledge, answering questions, asking questions, running WSOs, etc. it will die even more. One day we may wake up to a redirect.

    And, while we can't control what management does, we can control what we do.

    So are you willing to share your real business knowledge? Willing to spread the word? Willing to answer questions? Willing to give without concern for what you get?

    If not, and if enough other people give up one-by-one, it will go the way of the dodo.

    Thankfully, though, there are still a handful or three of very smart and helpful marketers who try to help anyone with serious questions for free. People who don't have to be here but who choose to be here. And they still come fairly consistently to contribute.

    So where is everyone hanging out at?

      In todays world there are many very focused groups, that take people away from the general theme offered here and they are also run by very swithched on people, as a result new people have no need to come here, and the old are slowly dropping of the perch.

      It could be great again, but not sure the captains of the ship, know how to sail into the tides of change.

    There is ten years of information or more easily seaorchable on any subject . And I'm sure the forum would seem a lot more busy if post did not have to get approved . But that would mean a hole lot of junk posts spam And other trash would clog up the forum.

    All the contribution made over the years are still there.

    I miss TerraK. When I was off the forum for a while she posted something nice on my Warrior page. (And did a great job of doing the "Think And Grow Rich" audios for me.)

    A lot of People have left however many of them are still here. : )

    Life has a way of just moving on. As someone pushing 20 years on this forum (the year next to my name says 2002, but I was a member before they migrated to this format, so really, 1999 - 2000) things are certainly not the same for me.



    Between 2004 and probably 2015 I visited here several times a day. Sometimes for advice, sometimes to contribute my advice, but mostly for the tidbits of brilliance I would pick up just lurking.


    And of course, sometimes just for the pure entertainment value, especially in the OT forum


    These days, my business is 95% off line (consulting as a technical expert on particular specialized equipment and control systems). But I always have a toe in this pond. I still tinker


    These days I do enjoy reading many of the posts that chronicle some of the things going on today and realizing that as much as things have changed, they are largely the same. I see the same "marketing tactics" being lauded as the greatest new thing when I was doing the same in 2007 - LOL.



    These days I pop in maybe every month to three months. Sometimes I post, sometimes I don't, but I will say there are still some very smart people running around here.


    And some who just think they're smart...


    To be honest, I wish the forum medium would become as popular as they were pre-social media. There's way too much noise in that world. Here, rules preclude certain kinds of discussions, allowing more focus on things to learn. There, good info gets buried and overlooked due to things like politics. Even in some of the FB groups I belong to.


    I guess I'm just an old fart longing for "better" days gone by. haha.

    Forums in general tend to be regarded as "oldschool" perhaps mainly because of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, blogs, etc. But the Warrior Forum still has a residual legacy of its distant glory days, and seems to be attractive increasingly to newbies.

    This trending shift in demographics requires a corresponding shift in marketing. If your products/services and branding are targeting this type of demographic, then maintaining a conspicuous presence on the WF can still drive formidable traffic. However, the glory days of "pull traffic" is indeed long past.

    For example, I still point customers and prospects for my own affiliate products and MLM business to posts I made here on the WF a decade or more ago. Combining social media and even offline promotions with WF posts can resonate continuity and credibility, particularly within highly competitive arenas such as MMO, IM, and even MLM.

    Leveraging this legacy aura left by the old farts with new marketing technologies (especially social media platforms) can more than compensate effectively for the overall declining traffic on WF.

    I've always known about Warrior Forum but I'm new to getting on here, posting and using it myself. So I don't know how often people reply and post. I find that the search box has been helpful at least for finding potential partnerships. I don't know what the results will be yet.

    I think I've been on here for 7-8 years... not sure. I don't know about anyone else but I seem to come back to WF every once in a while either to research or just to see what the latest posts people are talking about. It's true that the search box can uncover many gold nuggets along with some turds but it is what it is.

    On occasion, I do like to contribute some knowledge in areas that have worked for me. It does feel good helping out but of course you have to balance your time & efforts. I will try to do it a little more often however plus will start being more active here.

    Let's face it - we all want to make more money if you are a member of this forum. The only ways to do it is soaking in advice to use, buying WSOs that actually work & using them (rarity?) or being visible by providing either free/paid value to others. You just have to figure out your own direction which isn't always easy as we all know.

    I have a feeling that many warriors of the past are still here but lurk. You do see many of the regulars still consistently contributing with 1000-5000+ posts so why are they still here?

    So with that said I suggest that more warriors come out & play because this was the first thing I thought of when I saw this post for some reason...
