I want to buy a wordpress website, but I don't see in google analytics the sales they have had. can it be that they have had sales and they don't appear in google analytics?

    Not sure what you are really asking here.

    Have they shared their Google Analytics account with you? That's the only way you could possibly see their sales data with Google, assuming they have conversion tracking et up.

      Yes, I could see in his google analytics account, because I told him that if I was going to buy I needed to see that data, he told me it was through PAYPAL and that there I would not see the sales. But I don't have much knowledge of how it can be through PAYPAL and not show the data in Google if the purchases were made on the web.

        Again, I am not sure what you are saying when you state, "he told me it was through PAYPAL and that there I would not see the sales."

        Of course you will see the sales in PayPal unless he is using a personal account instead of a business one and they are paying him as a "friend/family member". For every incoming transaction on a business PayPal account, you can click on "Details" and it will show you precisely what was ordered.

        Or, is he saying that he never set up conversion tracking in Google Analytics because he doesn't know how to when PayPal is the processor?

    OP, is the site seller claiming his/her site generates sales but these aren't reflected in the traffic log of the site?

    Can you ask the seller to provide a SALES LOG? Paypal can produce a list of sales. Most payment processors can.

    Yes paypal data shows actual sales not google analytics as GA only shows website traffic .
    I have a site and all the sales data available in paypal and wordpress dashboard.

    it might be a red flag as i imagine any website would track their clicks visits leads and sales so they know how the website are performing so they can upscale it, and it could be they dont use goggle analitics perhaps another software

    If its related to sales then Payment Processor is the best place to track them. Google analytics can also be fooled with right tools.

    Therefore the best data to depend on in this kind of situation is the payment processor. Paypal, Stripe etc anyone will have those logs.
