Creating a SMMA service alongside my music promotional agency help

Hey everyone,

I currently operate a music promotion agency in London where I specialise in Spotify promotion, music video promotion, PR/Press, Ad curation (Really good on Final Cut) & Facebook Ad Campaigns for artist releases. I've developed expertise in Facebook ads, including Conversion Campaigns, pixel setup, and crafting target audiences.

Now, I'm looking to leverage my knowledge of Facebook ads to venture into Social Media Marketing (SMM) for brands. While I haven't decided on a specific niche yet, I'm actively working on it. Here are the key areas I need assistance with:

1. Setting up Effective Campaigns:
- I want to learn how to set up comprehensive campaigns that guarantee sales and growth for brands. This involves understanding the entire process from start to finish.

2. Defining Service Impact
- I need guidance on determining what my SMM service will achieve for brands. This includes setting realistic goals and expectations.

3. Pricing Structure:
- I'm looking for advice on pricing different tiers of SMM services. What factors should I consider when determining the cost?

4. Beyond Facebook:
- Are there other platforms or services outside of Facebook that I should consider integrating into my strategy for enhanced brand promotion?

5. Additional Considerations:
- As a newbie in this field, what other crucial aspects am I overlooking that should be taken into account when offering SMM services?

This is my first post, and I'm genuinely grateful for any help or support you can provide. Your insights will be invaluable!

Thanks a lot,
J

Quite sure there are those who can give you some advice based on their experiences.

The part of your question I thought was crazy was this:

'I want to learn how to set up comprehensive campaigns that guarantee sales and growth for brands.' This is what you're planning on doing for businesses that use your service...yet, you need advice on how to do it.

There are no guarantees. And as I said, nobody can guarantee you success.

Most startups fail. The overwhelming majority of them. And this is after the founders followed the best advice possible in most cases.

With your years of doing FB ads, you should have an idea of how to start.

It's just odd when someone wants to start an agency so they can help other businesses get customers...yet, they're not sure how to get customers themselves. Think about that for a minute.

    To answer...

Issue 1...nobody knows and nobody can tell you what will guarantee success. You need to test. Don't you think if someone knew what would guarantee success they'd be a multi-millionaire right off the bat?

Issue 2...nobody knows what your SMMA service will achieve. You're not being realistic by asking this question.

Issue 3...nobody knows and you won't either without testing.

    Issue 4...all of them.

Issue 5...nobody knows enough about your business to answer.

Quit trying to find a shortcut. There are no shortcuts like you want.

You're trying to ask for things that only you can figure out with testing.

Now, if you've tested things and can post the results you've gotten...then maybe someone can give you some feedback on what you have so far.

    A whole bunch of I. I, I, I.

Funny thing, not anything on what you can actually do for your clients. It seems you work with music artists. Your post is all about what you want.

If I were in the market for SMM, it would be from someone who tells me what they can do for me, not the guy who wants, where is your give? How does your so-called expertise in Facebook ads help my goals? Just sayin...eh?

While I have similar interests in helping offline businesses (*in the future) book more clients - there are people like Joel Kaplan, Mike Cooch, and Billy Gene Shaw who have successfully built SMMA agencies and you can find them sharing insights and knowledge on YouTube.

If you already know how to run successful FB ads, my guess would be you'd need to incorporate a SaaS CRM and get efficient at generating and nurturing those leads... to sell your services to existing business owners and/or local service providers offline!

Look up "High Level's SaaS CRM"... as it appears to be one of the most advanced platforms available for marketing and managing an agency... it's not cheap, but seems to be the "go to" source for those doing high volume ads, lead gen and nuturing leads to book client calenders.

I like this model myself, but it's quite advanced when you go down that rabbit hole!

    Good luck!

OP, have you considered checking out the TONS of free FB ad training on Udemy and Youtube?

As for "guarantees" you need to run successful campaigns for clients first so you can establish a track record that at least "guarantees" you know what you're doing

2.Align SMM goals with brand objectives, setting measurable KPIs.
3.Consider expertise, time, and demand for pricing SMM services.

Develop capabilities across multiple platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube etc. based on each platform's strengths. Integrate cross-channel tactics. and Build campaign reporting processes to demonstrate and optimize campaign performance. Review analytics regularly.

I have to question why you would be using Facebook to advertise new music releases? That seems more like a YouTube Shorts, TikToK kind of thing.

Based on the questions you are asking and where you want to get to, you need to start diversifying your Social outreach.

Lets start with this, Are you currently using LinkedIn for your current business aspect? as you move forward and start reaching out to brands... LinkedIn would be a wise move..

If you are getting results for your current music clients pretty much just using facebook... what does that success look like integrating Insta, Snap, Tic, X, LinkedIn to name a few?

Open up accounts on these and others with your BRAND... start sharing YOUR clients work in as many places as possible.

I am going to assume your efforts are localized? become the defining source of all things music for that community... 2 years from now when all that is poppin... then open up the feelers to BRAND work - I can do this for you - you have a clear model of success in your own work, that helped all of these musician and venues and bars etc ( giving away points of growth along the way )

Keep this list of the 5 questions you have asked us... expand what you have NOW... Grow what you have NOW.. and in a year or 2 YOU will be able to answer those 5 questions. Right now you simply are not ready for the answers to those question - you know enough to ask, but you dont have the experience if answered to execute - slow down - be patient - put in the work - and the Brands will come to you.
