What to do about this false warning from Amazon?

I just got an email from amazon warning me that my account is in danger and I need to fix the following:

"You are promoting your Special Links by including them in emails to your customers."

Now I have never sent any Amazon link via email and email marketing is not something I even practise. all my Amazon links are strictly on blog posts.

They told me I have 10 days to fix the issue but I have nothing to fix, should I just tell them that?

is it possible that one of my competitors are trying to get me in trouble and have been using my affiliate links in emails and then reporting it to amazon? then what can I do really? Seems like a very easy way to get rid of your competition, just copy their amazon links URL and blast spam emails with them and report it to Amazon, is that's the case how can I prove it wasn't me?

Would appreciate any advice!

    Get on the phone with customer service and deal with tbe matter as soon as possible .A lot of spamming and scamming is going on as well which might be the case Either way something underhanded is going on .

    its a scam they always use big brand names, if it sais dear customer which it probaly does in your case, it is not legit, amazon if they did email you it would address you by your first name

    That wording seems a bit strange. Any "customers" would belong to Amazon, not you. Have you signed in to your Amazon affiliate account to check for warnings there?

    My guess is that it's not from Amazon. Always contact Amazon with these issues. Never respond to an e-mail like this. And check the e-mail address it's really from.

    Amazon (and all companies really) already knows your account number, name, and your history.

    If they don't state all that in the e-mail...or ask you to log in...it's a scam, trying to access your account.

    It's a sleazy world out there.

    I used to make some decent amount of money from Amazon. Was getting regular payments too.

    But similar stuff happened to me. They told me my Amazon ID is doing shady things.

    At first I double checked my blogs and review/rating sites thinking maybe its hacked or something but found nothing unusual there.

    As there was nothing I could fix. I didn't fixed it and they freezed my account.

    I never tried opening a new one. It was less than $100 dollars that I was getting from there and it was not worth the heart ache. So I moved on.
