Trying New Ideas and Testing

Constantly searching for new ideas online, and getting bombarded with ads that I cannot control, I resorted to the library internal databases and print media for new ideas and information seeking, ad-free. It's working for me.

Most people don't realize how big library databases are, and how much information and free resources they have. I call it the forgotten databases.

Some ideas I want to test this year that may have promise:

1. Using Google sites for fast templating of websites and landers: I have discovered some operators are creating backlinks using google sites since they are so easy to create and duplicate, and have different generic addresses. It seems to be working for some keywords I typed.

2. Trying my hand at a coupon site. I built a tremendous email list in a grocery brand poll and want to see if I can monetize it using a grocery-related coupon site. I've read good and bad things about these kind of sites.

3. Create a portfolio of SEO websites in foreign countries domain names and see how well they rank, I am hoping for less competition and more traffic. Latin America mostly.

4. I want to try affiliate marketing in lesser known ad networks like Taboola, RevContent, etc. There's a lot of them..have to do more research but I like RevContent because they also allow you to send traffic to a domain parking page as well, as long as there are relevant ads being displayed on the cash parking page..like Bodis.

5. I got some results from Facebook groups and want to see how far it will go. I made a group last year and it kind of keeps generating its own traffic and memberships, over 2000 so far. I also got a Facebook page to rank well in SEO and wonder how this would work on purpose for an SEO linked website.

6. Getting a job because I have failed so many times over and over in Internet marketing. The only thing that ever made me money in my own business was real estate flipping and investing, making websites, direct mail, selling ebooks and audiobooks on Amazon.

Most were all experiments that kind of worked but I never went all in with because there was some huge adverse factor that I didnt like, such as:

Real estate: Dealing with contractors and trades, sucked the life out of me, tying up vast sums of cash for months, inconsistent income, rentals and tenants, lawsuits.

Making websites: I love it but only for myself, I hate making websites ofr others because they dont see what I see, and they want mega design for peanuts, literally. Its so bad now too. Then there are clients that dont pay. I just did a 3 domain mega web job for a plastics manufacturing outfit here in Ohio, they totally scammed me, I spent money upfront, they went total dark on me. Very frustrating, but if I could find better clients maybe not so. I did just to a gmail business conversion job and it went well, they really needed a better email system and gmail was the solution.

Ebooks: This was unexpected. I bought one of those kindle courses back i 2017 and just followed it for about 1 year, making about 65 books and using cheap writers, etc. I spent about $9,000 total on all the book costs, and the business has made over $700-$800 a month every year since. In 2020 I had a major spike of course. So this made me money, very passive because since 2018 I really dont do anything to it anymore. I wonder how it would be if I kept making more books and had 500 in there..

The only think that I ever really enjoyed doing was making ads and testing them, and my first experience into IM back in 1998. Under the guidance of a guru back then, I started making seo websites and selling ebooks on them and it was FUN, and easy, but not easy. But very fun, for a 21 year old, and it worked, I was making about $1000 a week till my little hack stopped working in SEO.

    .
Have you considered taking deposits and setting payment milestones? Just like the contractors in real estate, most will not start a project. Unless they receive a deposit upfront to at least pay for materials.

No I was always wanting the business and didn't want to scare them away. You are right though, that is the only way to really go, I don't know why I would never ask for deposits up front. Definitely my fault, I tihnk web design is a great business if you can find the right clients, and have everything in contract plus deposit like you said, before any work starts.

If you are making that kind of return, I'd keep doing that. You'll get better at creating sales copy for your Amazon sales pages, keywords, categories, and covers.

And assuming your books are in the same general category, you can promote your books at the end of every book.

Yes I am surprised it produces, since the ebook market is so so flooded now with ebooks.

    Merry Christmas!

It seems like you are all over the place, but if you are setting
up passive income streams with ebooks, websites, and digital
or print on demand products, it's fine.

The beauty of IM, being your own boss, and an entrepreneur
is that you can do whatever you like. You can do various things,
combine different methods to come up with brand new things,
    experiment, and pivot.

I think that you just need to do less of what doesn't work, and
more of the things that work well for you. You certainly have
some very valuable skills, and you can always learn more.

If you enjoy making websites for yourself, and you don't like to
deal with clients, then make websites for yourself and monetize
them with ads, affiliate offers, digital downloads, etc.

If you haven't tried ChatGPT, I would recommend it to help you
brainstorm, get focused and organize your projects, research,
    develop content, silo structures, etc.

As to the targeted ads showing up on the internet, you need to
clean your cookie folder. Go to your browser settings and locate
it. There's a long list of spammy ad providers, you'll be amazed
at how many there are. I clean mine every couple of weeks but
I don't remove all of them, just the ones that are a nuisance.

Good luck with all your projects in the coming year!

      Thank you

I want to focus on one thing and become super good at it. Having trouble doing that because there are so many options available for anyone now. Plus, I am so interested in so many things as well.

You're already good at publishing ebooks and you have
some other skills that are great to have.

Organize all your lists, skills, resources and everything
else you have available and schedule your projects.

For example, you could publish more ebooks, once or
twice a week, and spend a couple of hours each day
working on whatever else interests you.

Now is the perfect time to get calendars and planners,
take a deep inventory and figure out what you want to
        do with your life.

I think in any form of testing, the main thing is to track anything no matter if it is facebook groups, or prospecting.

i do a lot of you tube review videos, just see what works and then scale it up and do a lot more of it, the stuff that dosent bring in any traffic, basically stop doing it, i only use 5 to 7 methods, you could just promote many methods, but why bother on methods that never produce any results, just stick to what works, is what i think

No one can really help you with that part.

You need to make decisions based on your future plans - based on what YOU want to accomplish. Prioritize the 'things' and then start with #1 and ignore sales pages and 'shiny objects'.

This seems to work for you so this will be ONE of your multiple income streams.

Some things will bring you extra income and some of the things you try out, will not.

    New idea:

A new kindle book I write, explaining "how to write business letters to get big results in a world where everyone is depending on texts and email."

I use this often to get results from decision makers and to get things done, and noticed. But it's an art, you have to know how to write a letter, what to say and what to request. And who to send it to.

It's amazing how many people do not send letters anymore, hand-addressed envelopes and typed, signed letters. It's kind of like direct mail/marketing in a way but highly refined to one big decision-maker/authority recipient.

    I've used letters to get
    - Free samples
    - International contacts and clients
    - Private real estate loans
    - High ticket business clients
    - Creditor battles - credit issues and repair
    - Vendors that screwed me over
    - VIP response to something like ideas, questions, suggestions.
    - Cease and desist
    - Complaints and requests for refunds where they would never happen via phone, in person.
    - PRESS RELEASES but in a letter type of way, seems to have worked if written a certain way.
