Hi Team,

The model I have setup is as follows:

1.) Opt-in page -> Affiliate Offer
2.) Email affiliate offer 2 times a day

I have just started list building and I am having a bit of success getting people to opt-in using Facebook. I have 9 people on my list so far, I know it's quite small but that's just in like 24 hours.

Firstly, I was hoping to get a bit of feedback, am I heading in the right direction for my first sale through list building and secondly do you have any other ways to get leads that you would recommend me?

I would say 2 times a day "pitching" an offer is a bit over kill.

The fact they Opted In means they are interested, so a constant barrage of buy buy buy, will probably not get your intended outcome - a sale.

You need to focus your follow up content ( or at least this is how I do it ) with WHY they should buy the product... what will it do for them. Tips and tricks on using what ever it is you are selling. How easy it is to set up or implement... a guide for to do just that.

Hi, my name is... ( Eminem reference haha ) and I have used this for the last X months and have gotten X results. If I can do it, so can you.

Now, I am not saying make this stuff up... that just backfires. You have used the product you are selling? This is where Experience ( with the product ) pays off in spades. you can fake it till you make it... but actually gaining an amount of experience is unfortunately the path less traveled... but it happens to be the path to greater success faster - simply because it allows you to explain the WHY for you personally - which translates to fortifying the WHY for you prospects.

    Hope that helps!

If you want feed back simply give your list an incentive to help get more feed back .

You have had 9 people opt-in but how many people visited your landing page in total.

I can't determine if 9 is a good number without knowing your opt in rate .

Email is what generates the best income for me.

Let me tell you, treat your email as YOUR COMMUNITY not a source of sales

Send content that will actually deliver VALUE into people's lives

Constantly deliver on the reason why people joined your newsletter in the first place - if you just gave a freebie so they can join your list - you did it wrong... SELL THE LIST and the VALUE it delivers ... the FREEBIE is just the cherry on top ie., a bonus.

I also think 2 pitches per day will definitely wear out your list.

In the beginning, unsubscribes hurt really bad so you want to do your best to nuture your list.

Just starting out, I'd personally email them real valuable content once per day, and only pitch offers 1-2 times per week max.

As far as what kind of content that is actually valuable to send out you could do:
    • Niche-related blog posts from your blog
    • Niche-related blog posts from others blogs
    • Niche-related news items from mainstream media
    • YouTube videos yours or others
    • Pinterest pins
    • Infographics
    • Free short reports
    • Free eBooks
    • A series of lessons or an email-delivered mini-course
    • Case studies
    • Surveys asking them what they need help with
    • A set of niche-related FAQs and answers
    • New product or company-based announcements

But please do include a link in every email so you can condition your list to click.

This way they get used to reading your email then clicking your links and expecting something on value on the next page.

This will help your email click-through rate, which will then boost traffic to your offers when you do decide to pitch.

    Hope this helps.

    Other ways? Let me think...

    1. Online forums
    2. Reddit
    3. Twitter
    4. Linkedin
    5. Instagram
    6. Press release
    7. Youtube
    8. Craigslist

This is just a general idea, the devil is in the details

In other words, you can offer freebies to build your list or provide a free trial.

I only send them an email if I have a good offer. Offering a free trial or freebies can speed up your list building.

I'm very sorry, but that's not how you build a list.

Offering back to back affiliate offers isn't how you build a list, it's how you take a profitable list, and destroy it.

If you want to build a list of responsive subscribers, you need a personality, not an offer. They have to feel a relationship with you.

Think of any successful "Guru" in any business. You know who they are as a person. You know something about them. You can hear their voice.

Affiliate offers deliver none of that.

Build your list with your own offer. Put a lot of thought in it. Make it interesting and compelling. Once they opt in for that offer, you can now communicate with them daily, if you like, but it better be interesting. And it better be on the same subject....appealing to the same audience....that brought them to the dance.

Ben Settle is a copywriter that sends me e-mails about once a day. And yes, each e-mail has an offer.

But these are interesting, informative stories that convey meaning....that end up with an offer that perfectly matches the story being told.

I promise you....you have my word of honor...that if you just send affiliate offers to your list, with no real connection to you....without any personality they can associate with you....then your list will stay small...with different people on the list every week, because they leave.

My advice is to subscribe to 5 or more e-mail lists of the top people you want to emulate...and see what they send out...and what they say to keep it interesting. A free education.

What is the reason they choose to opt in? What's in it for them?

Giving up an email takes a reason, what reason do they have to even do that?

We always offer a FREE something to get the initial list built, and then usually GIVE more and more BEFORE we try to sell them something. It has worked for over 20 years and has put thousands on our lists.

So, care to give more information about the reason why they opt in?

And that free offer (to secure the subscription to the e-mails) selects the audience that will opt in.

For example, your free offer is about weight loss. Now we now what the subscriber wants to know more about. Every e-mail, and every affiliate offer, must attract that same audience...and stay on topic.

One huge mistake I see are unrelated affiliate offers, with no congruent appeal. Another mistake are just the blatant offers, without a personal story leading up to the offer.

Anyway, I wish the poster luck.

I think it depends how you approach it Chris. If you provide valuable/free content to your list and then promote Affiliate Offers then it could work.

chris i would probaly do as much as that pitch twice a day, i would stick to sending a email once per day

and always try to give value, i would mix the emails one day a pitch one day a curosity email, one day a story email and a value email and a results email is how i do it mix things up and see what works best for you

    I would suggest:
    1. Opt in page > thank you page
    2. Daily emails providing value and affiliate offers

I'm wondering how many people stayed after you emailed them twice a day.... unless you have to say something of value - I wouldn't email that often.
