Hi,
It's been a longtime here let alone posting in a forum that is not facebook/google/etc

Back in 2015 I ran Tshirt campaigns + wanning out of easier and more $$$ adult and I noticed that Tshirt are much harder to execute and has less "meat" then even other verticals (such as travel).

A bit about me, I'm a sw engineer that focuses on web projects, websites, traffic rotaters, funnels, etc..
So my question is, how are Tshirts doing today? MRR?

Great to be back!

Are you referring to print on demand T-shirts?

IMO it is saturated like just about everything else.

But if you dedicate regular and consistent time to it,
you might be able to make it work if you have some
    snazzy designs.

I don't know about MRR, unless you could get on
Amazon Merch or a major POD storefront.

Something like Society6 or one of the newer ones
    that isn't so saturated yet.

With your level of experience, you should be able to
devise a successful business with whatever you do.

There is a sector of POD tees that I think is totally underserved.

I like tees with funny messages and I have a lot of them. I wear them at the gym and when I go to the horse farm. It has become difficult to find tees that don't SHOUT the 'message'.

Lack of design skills or thought - not sure which - seems to dictate that POD shirts now have 4 inch high letters that can be read from a mile away. It creates an ugly shirt that screams a joke and isn't funny.

A marketer who defines his POD products to present a more restrained font that requires someone to be within 6-8 feet from you to READ the comment....could be a good business model.

My first thoughts about this months ago was that if I were selling POD I'd have a name like 'subtletees' but then found a 'special' group was using that name...so also thought of 'quiet-tees'. My final name and one I really like is 'shhh-tees' (say it fast 3 times)

In a crowded market you have to define yourself - and as someone who has spent time LOOKING for POD tshirts with a message that is 'whispered' rather than 'shouted'....it is an underserved market IMO.

I guess what I'm advocating is RESTRAINT in the use of large fonts and huge graphics. It seems to be missing in most POD products these days. The exception may be some products on Etsy but I've found those are often poor quality fabrics and long ship times.

The POD market is flooded with 'imports' which may contribute to the problem as humor doesn't always translate well.

Look at the POD products you are selling - does the humor sneak up on you or slap you in the face? Many POD sellers don't seem to consider that. I've decided to STAY happily retired... so shhh-tees is there for anyone who wants it...;-)

You don't need to come out of retirement to design
a t-shirt or other clothing item that is to your liking.

Redbubble, Spring, and other POD platforms are
free, AI image generators are free, and you can add
your quiet-shhh lettering using editors available on
      the POD site.

I am on a few of them and they are easy to use.

And then just order the thing.

I could do it but I don't need more shirts for now at least. It may be an idea that someone could turn into a brand that could include all sorts of themed or 'sayings' products.

I thought of designing and selling physics t-shirts LOL, but I don't know how to promote them effectively for free. I don't wanna end up gaining just a few bucks per month.

By the way, I think you make more money easily by working as a software engineer.
