What Do You Do When You Feel Deflated And Need Inspiration?

I'm sure a lot of us will have experienced this feeling of being drained out, mentally tired and devoid of motivation at some point of time.

After all, doing business (e.g. writing copy, research, content/product creation) can be tiring.

So what do you do to keep the energy level up?

For me, this is what I do...

1. Take a break! Rest and renewal is important!
Gives me energy to refresh and re-charge/

2. Go for a jog and work out.
This keeps me physically fit. And I don't know why. But I frequently have a lot of good ideas coming to me when I'm running or lifting weights.

3. I listen to my mp3 player

Especially inspirational ones from Tony Robbins and Earl Nightingale.
Educational audios from Eben Pagan, Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar and the likes
also never fail to perk me up.

Well, this is just for me.

I'm curious to know what is your "perk-me-up" routine?

Never been there - don't understand how anyone would.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

I play Fallout 3 for a day. Then I can come back fresh and inspired.

Pretty good way to de-stress. That reminds me it's time
to give my playstation 3 a good go.

I attest to this. A change of venue definitely helps.

The vibes and energy is different. And it can be very refreshing.

      Thank you!

I'm going to put more Queen and David Bowie's songs into my MP3 now.

I really dig David Bowie "Lets Dance"!

Another good one. Do you know I feel very unmotivated when the sky is all gloomy and rainy?

I take sunshine any day (as it is right now as I'm typing this).

Then I played Battlefield 2 for a while.

I'm not refreshed, but at least I got to shoot someone.
Shooting someone feels good right? Feel the punishment!

      Excellent!! I do something similar.

I wrote a lot of my goals on paper. And what is needed to be done.

And I also write down the consequences if I don't do this.

Writing down my targets and auto-suggesting to myself
      helps tremendously too!

I've been home sick today, now it's time to go out for some sunshine myself without a computer in sight. (Clear and cold outside today.) I expect to have some good new ideas by the time I'm back.

      Thanks Chris! =)

The sunshine will definitely do you good. Hope you are feeling
      better already.

Reading this makes me want to go on my year-end holiday to Thailand already! You bet I'll be looking at "hard-to-read" signs over there..

Thanks for all the responses guys!

The best thing to do, is to unplug from IM for a while. I love watching old British comedies they are so funny laughter is a great medicine. it also boosts the immune system.

It's best to have days when you will not be on your PC just shut it all down, and go out and do something for the day.

The other way I get great inspiration is i like to go to the public library and spend time doing things the old-fashioned way which is reading books and doing some old-fashioned brainstorming with a notebook.

      .

Old British comedies? Like "Mind Your Language"?

      I absolutely adore that show.

      Good tip you got here.

A great way is usually to seek out people who are experiencing success and be inspired by them. That's why I love it when people here post about their successes and what they have done to accomplish it. It's definitely very cool if they can show their progress. More people should use the blog feature here.

    Everyone loves a good story

The other day a friend of mine needed help building a roof.

I took a day off from my business to give him a hand.

After sweating in the 95 or so degree heat with the sun bearing down on me for a day, lifting heavy pieces of sheet metal and bending over to bolt it down...

Well... let's just say it made me a hell of a lot more grateful for what I do.
