Does anyone know of a good book related to IM or related to self-employment, starting your business, etc., related to what we do that is interesting and attention getting to the reader. I just would like to read some material on my own time that will help boost my motivation in getting started in my business. I'm not looking for material that will help me start a specific business, just something more inspiring for motivational purposes.

I agree. Think and Grow Rich has had a phenomenal impact on my life. I am a completely different person now than I was 6 months ago in part to reading that book. It is incredibly motivational and inspiring.

Also, The Science of Getting Rich is another good book. This one you can download for free. They share the same theme basically, which is changing your thoughts, and you will change your life.

One other good book that I found is a book called, "Shut Up, Stop Whining, and Start Living". Hope this helps.

One of my tactical favorites is No B.S. Direct Marketing: The Ultimate, No Holds Barred, Kick Butt, Take No Prisoners Direct Marketing for Non-direct Marketing Businesses by Dan Kennedy.

Regardless of how you implement any business, this gets to the core of customer communication. Your mileage may vary...

"The Well-Fed Writer" isn't a motivational book, it's about the
freelance writing biz, but much of it is a nuts-and-bolts, the
    world-as-it-is-in-real-life-when-you're-self-employed guide
to what you need to be aware of to make it working for yourself.

If you're having a hard time working up the motivation to be
self-employed and run your own show, you've got a problem -
because nobody who succeeds in this game does so with
    a motivation problem.

The best introductory books to IM for the layman are:

    Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

    and

    Alice's Adventures Through the Looking-Glass

Because they're the best introductory books to ANYTHING for the layman.

You think I'm kidding, don't you? Go read them.
