Seen some fantastic posts on article marketing and how to get the most out of an article but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

So my question is how do I get the most out of one article, what do I do to it to get the most milage out of it?

  • Here are a few options:

    1) break it into paragraphs and turn each one into a short blog post (part 1, part 2, part 3 etc)

    2) record an audio version and start a podcast (can get listed on itunes/podcast directories)

    3) record a video version and post it on various video sharing sites

    4) rewrite it 100% and repeat 1,2,3

  • 1 article can be powerful, but only if it is well targetted, well written and well backlinked - and with the right call to action.

My advice would be first of all to write more! But to answer your question I would say

    • Make sure it is keyworded to a keyword that is 'rankable' (low competition, high searches)
    • Submit it to EZA (or articlebase or GoArticles)
    • Backlink it like crazy
I have suggested article directories as I don't know what your own blogs etc are like, but if you have a high quality blog or site (or are looking to build one) it would be better to put it up there

Personally i would then turn it into spinnable syntax and use Big Mike's ArticleBot to submit it to 100's of directories, but that's just me.

Obviously everyone here will have their views on what to do but I think most will agree with me when I say

    Write MORE!
  • Spin the article using a good quality spinner that rewrite sentences and has thesaurus for words, and produce loads of copies of it and the submit it too as many article directories as you can with links in the signature to a web property that you want to rank in the search engines.

  • Turn and rework your article into a:
    • mp3 Podcaste
    • Blog post
    • Video
    • A report
    • a review for an affiliate product (reword the wording, and tweak it towards a review for a product)
Then use social bookmarking to backlink to these variations of your article, which should increase their rankings.

  • also you can turn it into a power point presentation and submit that, and also turn it into an exe ebook and submit it to all the software directorys and freeware sites

  • Thanks for the replies, so far we have:

    1) break it into paragraphs and turn each one into a short blog post (part 1, part 2, part 3 etc)

    2) record an audio version and start a podcast (can get listed on itunes/podcast directories)

    3) record a video version and post it on various video sharing sites

    4)A report

5)turn it into a power point presentation

6)turn it into an exe ebook and submit it to all the software directorys and freeware sites

Any more ideas to squeeze some juice out of one article?
  • What I tend to do with each article I write is post the original one at ezine and wait for that to go live. Once it is live I then take the article and use a free article spinner and create another 10 articles from it.

I then take each respin and post the first one to say article alley and the second one to another article site and so on until I end up with 11 different articles out there all from the one original article.

I also will sometimes use parts of the article as a blog post. I have also noted down all the other ways that an article can be used that was mentioned by other in earlier posts.

    • Another suggestion is to review the article for any questions that it would raise for its readers and use your answers to those questions in one or more new articles. If you have enough of those, you may be able to organize them in an ebook, which you can sell.
    • Honestly? Your best bet is to stick the article on your blog or site first before submitting it to ANY article directory...you see Google prefers the original source of the article.

Post to blog/site first, THEN submit to EZA, grab the link to that EZA article, and make an anchor keyword in original article, THEN submit the same article UNSPUN to 100 article directories...the backlinks to the EZA article will make it rank in the top 5 for chosen keyword for ages...and ages...and ages...EVEN with high competing keywords!

I never respin the article when submitting to other directories because you only get penalized by Google if you have duplicate content on your site.

All you would really need to do is respin the article 1 more time and rinse and repeat the above process! Take the article in question and make it into a PDF, and submit it to Scribd..

      That's my advice anyway.

  • Spin the article at least 30% and submit the spun version to many article directories and you may as well post to web 2.0 pages.

    Good luck
  • James (TheRichJerksNet) posted something a while ago that I took notes on because it really opened my eyes about the possibilities of article marketing. Here's the actual post: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...tml#post803308, but I'm going to take the liberty to post part of what he said:

I can take 1 article and spin it 20 times and then do the following:

Use 1 to submit to article directories
Use 1 to create a short report to build opt-in list
Use 1 to create a video articles to post on How-To video sites
Use 2 to create a squidoo lens
Use 2 to create a hubpage
Use 3 (the summaries) and post to 20 related blogs
Use 2 to post to my blog
Use 5 to post to the top 5 social networks that have a blog function
Use 3 to post to news release sites

    • Thats the thread I was thinking of!!

      Thanks!
  • I would submit that article to either your site or one of the top directories. I would then rewrite the articles another couple of times but target a different variation of your target keyword for each. Not the same keyword on all three. Then submit those to two different sites. Use a different title for each also. Feel free to use my free rewriting tool. Makes rewriting a doddle.

    • Hell no.........I would never use your tool.......

Ooops.......that's right, that's the tool that I use and I recommend to all my friends to use! :-)
  • I did not realise you could do so much with one or two articles, just by answering a question I have learned so much as well. Thanks for all the tips guys.
  • Pretty much do what James does, except I just spin and release, I don't do 2 here 1 here 3 there etc, I make an article, spin it ridiculously, send spun versions to 100's of article directories.

Tip though: Before creating an article, do keyword research for topics people care about at the moment considering your niche, find several good keywords and build an understandable article with those keywords.

If you have time, over a 2 week period you can measure the traffic of another site through keywords using other tools.

And with adwords, if you use brad callens affliate elite you can check if the adword campaigns keep the same keywords or if some change, usually if the campaign keeps the keyword over a 2 week period it means its proffitable.

Remember when writing and looking for keywords make sure they are buyer keywords if money is the end result. For example, Free weight loss tips is not a buyer keyword, as people are in the mind frame of searching for free tips.

    Hope that helps, Jason.

  • Make sure it's a great article that is really helping someone out. Something informative and shows them something they want in an interesting way.

Open their eyes to new ideas. Get them going.

Think that's the most important thing before distribution.
