Camtasia or CamStudio

Hi All,

I'm looking to create some screen capture videos for my membership site.

Can anyone advise on the main differences between Camtasia and Camstudio?

    Camtasia is more detailed!

    I have tried both and Camtasia kills the competition for me. I still find many new features now, even after shooting many videos! Its awesome and worth the money IMO!

      Camtasia has better editing tools for cleaning up the audio and adding callouts.

      There is a 30 day demo available on the techsmith.com site.

      CamStudio is very basic.

      My suggestion would be to create a video using CamStudio and then do the same using the 30 day trial of Camtasia that's freely available from techsmith.

      The other alternative is the jing project, but I think that the videos are limited to 5 min?

    Camtasia all the way.

    Great quality video, easy to use, small file sizes.. and it even creates the player and html for you ready to upload.

    Thanks everyone for the input.

    I guess Camtasia wins all the way and is worth the investment.

    I didn't realise they had a free 30 day trial (stupid me for not checking) and will surely try it.

    My tech skills suck so hopefully it's not to difficult to use.
