I want to take a book from 1905 and make it PDF...

Warriors,

I found a great book in a niche from 1905. Since this can be reproduced and has no copyright due to the date, can you recommend a service that can put it in PDF or even Word?

I was just curious if any of you have done something like this with success.

Thanks!

I have seen services that offered to do this. Did you try googling it?

I see sites where you can buy an image scanner for it, but I want a service that will do it for me. I'm not having much luck, that is why I asked here. Surely there is a good service that will do this. I will keep searching...if anyone has suggestions, feel free to speak up. :-)

How about hiring someone to type it then just print to PDF?

Timo at Document Imaging Services by BookScanning.com does an excellent job for a more than reasonable rate.

I see he responded to one of your other recent threads.

I've used him several times and highly recommend him as do a number of other Warriors.

    Hi,

You have probably checked this already, but just in case have you searched the public domain sites to see if they already have it in txt format. Sites like Main Page - Gutenberg and others?

Have you searched if it is already available
in digital format in public domains sites?

This could save you time and money...

    Google Book Search

See if it is on there. I found a few books that worked great there.

You will notice that you may find the books there, but they have Google watermark stamps all over the content which basically renders it useless. And all are in PDF, and the text versions doesn't look like you can copy and paste.
