Any Warriors Doing IM While In University?

I'm currently in first year of university, and curious who else is doing IM while in school.

How is that time management going, with midterms and work at the same time? Fun, isn't it? Come out of the woodwork and share your tips for juggling your commitments!

I've found time management to be one of the most important things to master. I have to resist the urge to work when I should be studying and vice versa. Also, it's hard to get my friends to understand that I can't hang out sometimes. After all, I'm the one who "just writes online", right?

Still, I think it should be worth it... I hope to have quite a strong passive income built up by the time I graduate university. While they're all talking about getting internships and jobs in fourth year, I'll be making plans to travel.

So who else is here doing university and IM at the same time?

I am definately not one of them Never went to university. I had to work at the young age.

But I know a lot of people here on the forum that do IM while being in
    University.

I'n not someone who did IM while i was at university, but like many others i did have a part-time job to make some extra money. Not the same thing i know, but i can understand the time restraints.

However, my first introduction to IM was from reading Ryan Moran's stuff. I believe he is still a Warrior and earned the nickname "The Dorm Room Marketer". I could be wrong, but i believe he graduated within the last year or so, but not before building a "part-time" 6 figure online business. I'm sure a google search will reveal far more than i can tell you about this impressive young guy!

I'm not doing it currently, but I did do it years ago.

Back when I first started my "Day Job" I also enrolled in online university for a degree in IT with an emphasis on Web Design. My day job was being a webmaster and I wanted to improve my skills for it. While in school, I discovered affiliate marketing and then started doing that part-time in between working full-time, taking care of two children and doing online college working toward my degree.

By the time I got my "Associates Degree" (2 years) I learned enough about affiliate marketing and by then was making a decent amount every day. So I decided not to pursue a "Bachelor's Degree".

I'd have to say that taking the courses did help me, especially since my focus was on web design. Although trying to manage my time between all my commitments were at times VERY hard. I'm glad I stuck with it though, because through it all I learned enough to make more with my affiliate marketing than my day job. Been doing affiliate marketing for over 2 years full-time now and loving it.

Good for you. I wish I had that mentality during school, I spent my time selling at Radio Shack to garner enough dough to pay for booze, and that's it.

Time management is one of the biggest hurdles I struggle with in regards to my employees. I'm spending good money giving them the skill set to properly manage their time.

You are on an amazing track right now, understanding one the biggest hurdles in business and taking action while you are learning rather than waiting for the piece of paper, which, imo, most are worth less than the paper they are printed on. Although, University did give me my greatest skill set, learning how to learn.

    Hi guys

i remember first starting my business on the internet whilst i was at my first year at university. I recall doing a launch of a new product and checking my emails whilst i was at uni. Because of the breaks in between lessons its the perfect way to do your business at the same time.

    kind regards

Russell Brunson has spoken many times of his business pursuits on the internet whilst going to college. In fact, I remember him telling a story once where he was taking some sort of computer class (don't remember what it was) and he outsourced all his assignment to Odesk. LOL.

The hardest part is putting motivation in the right place. If I come up with a new idea that I want to implement business-wise then I get motivated to do that rather than homework.

At the same time, I find it to be the best combination. My first year of university, I was working 19 hours a week to pay the bills on top of practicing brazilian jiu jitsu and trying to maintain a social life.

Now, I work very little per month and make the same amount of money. It is perfect for me at the moment.

    Tip #1:
If you have the opportunity to hang out and have fun then DO IT! Make the most of your time! Don't sacrifice fun and friends for work.

    Tip #2:
With school and IM, don't juggle too many projects. Try to focus on a few things and do them well.

    Tip #3:
Money is sometimes an issue in college. I would advise not spending too much money on IM. Stick to strategies that are low cost such as the strategies taught in the ThirtyDayChallenge.com

    Tip #4:
Assuming a normal 9-5 life, this is the moment in your life where you have the luxury of time. Use your time to learn new stuff so that you can craft out a different life for yourself in the future.

While most people are out there crying about how there are no jobs, I have received offers to join local businesses as online marketing manager for a salary much higher than I would receive for a job in computer science (my degree). This is because I have built up my marketing resume and have learned a lot during my free time. Most people have this luxury in college but choose not to use it.

    Good luck!

I'm getting my masters degree now and set up a IM business to fund the studies and just get some extra money. It took off pretty well.

I manage it all pretty well. Maybe my study program isn't that tough.

I'm in the third year of a four-year undergrad program in political science. The time management thing is easy for me: I put very little time into school-related work

I'm there for a degree (for the sake of having it) and for the experience. Any knowledge I gain will be considered a nice bonus. My main priority is IM - I've got no other career plans for the future, which is something that the few people that I do tell this to do not understand
