Top 5-10 Article Directories?

INTERNET MARKETING

So, I'm curious to know what are the best 5-10 article directories. And I ask this because I've read numerous people who say they only submit to the "top" directories, and I suppose it has some validity, especially when it comes to time-saving.

If you could please help me figure out which 5-10 I would be most appreciative! Thank you.

There are lot of good article directories out there so somebody can come up with totally different list and can be right as well.

For direct traffic EzineArticles is #1 of course. However, Articlesbase is coming up strong. This is great because I like having another site where I can submit articles and get quality traffic right away. The rest of them I basically use for backlinks. You can even compare the views of the different article directories. EZA>Articlesbase>GoArticles.

Remember though that ArticlesBase is nofollow. You'd almost be better submitting to AB and getting the link juice from EZA. I've yet to do that because I am happy with my system. AB is getting some awesome rankings lately.

Agree with @marketingva. IdeaMarketers.com is good for SEO purpose and there is no need to wait for article approval. Good article directory.

I just did some testing on this since I'm not a fan of using article distribution software that makes no impact and wanted to narrow down to best results directories.

Link value was secondary to traffic, that was my primary concern. Hands down EZA and Buzzle whipped all others by a huge amount. As far as the subject matter, some areas out performed others due to nich but all tests showed that EZA and Buzzle brought more direct traffic by far.

As far as link juice, not sure if any really make or break any big link values but they are good for diversity, which some say is important. Best number of links was Isnare, using their distribution method. Averaged at least 7-8 visible links, often more depending on the subject matter. Although I do get a lot of articles picked up by ezines at EZA too.

If you take the time to come up with good, interesting, and revelant content you can probably do will with the three I mentioned.

Of course ezine is the best, by far. There are many others, already mentioned here that are also very good. However, I would recommend you stay away from GoArticles. I know a lot of IMers like it because you do not have to wait for article approval. And, THAT is exactly the reason why I do not recommend them. Because of the fact that they have automatic approval it leaves much to be desired with regards to the quality of the articles in there. I stay away from it and I always recommend people to stay away as well. So it is up to you. You can have your article in a directory that has quality articles or in a directory full of junk, badly written or badly spun articles.

It lists them by traffic and page rank. Ezine is at number 1, of course.

Ezine, has got to be the best by far IMO, we just setup a client this week and submitted her first article (custom SEO written not spun) and it was approved and G indexed on the first page by the next day.. Thats pretty impressive in my eyes..
