Ok,

So I'm gonna venture into the teleconference or webinar freebie opt-in bait thing...but thing is, I don't know which is which. Can someone help out here?

I mean, what's the diff between a teleconference and a webinar? Which one allows you to host people on a phone call? Which one allows you to share a presentation?

Any reputable and reliable companies to recommend for each one?

A teleconference or teleseminar is hosted by telephone and a webinar allows you to share a presentation, videos, etc via computer.

For teleconferences, I use: Free Conference Call, Phone Conferencing, Teleconferences - FreeConferenceCall.com

For webinars, I use Web Conferencing | GoToMeeting but I have colleagues that use Web Conferencing, Video Web Conferencing, Web Conferencing Services, Web Video Conferencing Solutions | InstantPresenter.com and recommend it.

  Don't ovelook skype. The new version has a facility for sharing your screen.
  
  It's not nearly as slick as the dedicated webinar software, but it's f.r.e.e
  
  A friend and I recently trialled Easy, Open and Affordable Web Conferencing and Webinars | Dimdim We found it to be rather flaky. The website crashed at almost the exact time my friend was due to start an online lesson for 15 students. On one trial run with just the two of us, a phantom attendee appeared.
