do that...

...so i don't want to get hurt now...

so should i only social bookmark 10% of my stuff
and 90% of other people's stuff when i social bookmark
through socialmarker.com?

what do you guys do so you won't get your
account kicked off...

I think you just mix 20% outside content should be ok.

You can use 2 or 3 accounts to bookmark your site, and only quality content should be bookmark.

Don't bookmark every post on single account, that is spamy...!

A great strategy would be to bookmark all your content that resides on your site and all the content you have produced and submitted on other sites.

    For instance...

    If you bookmark...
1 Blog Post at your blog
1 Article you submitted at EA, 1 at Go Articles
1 Video you created at Youtube, Revver etc
    1 Post on a forum
    1 squidoo lens
    1 hub

Where you are creating all the content from the traffic point of view, then you would not be banned even if you bookmarked as little as 20% of other people's sites. because your own 80% do not comprise of one domain. Neither do they comprise of ONLY your domains... which are counted as your websites.

    I hope that makes sense

    Hi,

    Follow lakshay's advice..

If you bookmark articles on other domain..It's technically not yours..

As the bookmark sees it anyway...

    lakshaybehl,

Nice pointer there. I'll certainly make a note of that for when I do start bookmarking myself (too busy). Thanks for sharing!

Technically, there is no harm in doing that... They are on separate domains and I am 99% sure there are no penalties for that. here's why...

Lets say one of your article gets picked up by the author of a well known blog andd they decide to use it. Chances are a lot of people will bookmark that blog post separately... So automatically the same content is being bookmarked, although this time its on a different site.

No point in doing that yourself as well....

Because if you have a good article somewhere and people from bookmarking "libraries" like it, then they will check out your other articles as well. And you certainly do not want them to see the same article again.

    1 final question to lakshaybehl

do you social bookmark 100% of your own stuff?
    90%

    80%

    what is your percentage?

    thanks
    BJ

PS>..the reason i ask is that i heard from john reese
that you should do only 10%...so not sure

For me... 80% is my own stuff spread across tons of websites like EA and Youtube apart from my own.

Of that nearly 10% is bookmarking for my own websites ie the domains that I own.

And the remaining 20% is about bookmarking content that you find interesting, but sends traffic over to other people's sites...

I bookmark 100% of my blog posts at one social bookmarking site, and have been doing it for years, but from what people are saying here it looks like my account will be shut down at some point.

To tell you the truth my social bookmarks are about 90% my stuff. Mind you I do not really do much in the IM niche. So the bookmarks are spread out around various niches and sites.

You don't just have to social bookmark your sites / blogs. I even do some social bookmarking of forum posts , my affiliates postings and most recently my WSO's

Just keep it a little mixed up and your accounts will be fine.
