First time advertising, how do these Facebook #'s sound?

I sold my Playstation 3(I'm still crying inside) so I could have money to advertise my website.

I was thinking of playing around with the Facebook advertising first since it seems thats where a lot of my target audience hangs out.(Teenage Gamers)

Based on all of that settings I have so far, my ad should reach about 702,520 people.

My settings are:

Location: Everywhere
Gender: Male
Age: 25 and younger

I linked a whole bunch of Call of Duty fan pages and groups for my audience as well.

So where my ad appears, it should be very targeted!

Now, do I want to pay for CLICKS or IMPRESSIONS?

If I pay for impressions: I was thinking .50 per 1,000 impressions at an estimated 56,000 impressions per day.

(The suggest bid is .23 -.36)

Not sure how much I should bid per impressions, advice here is welcomed.

OR

Pay per click...

Suggest bid is -.54 - .84

Which one do you guys work with? Which one has better results?

All information is helpful, I would like a successful first-time campaign!

Thanks

P.S. How many clicks can I expect per 1,000 impressions? 2-4%?

TBH, you should learn more about PPC before diving into it.

Also, no one will be able to answer this question, unless they've used the exact same campaign as you.

You're going to have to split test to find your answer.

Well, I figured the best way to learn was to actually just dive into it!

I set my budget low and I'm going to keep that in tact so I don't have one of those horror stories about losing hundreds and hundreds very quickly. Lol

But you are very correct, I guess I was just kinda looking for some insight on whether to bid above the "suggested price" or what.

    But ty on your input!

This is probably a bad idea. I'm not sure how Facebook works but you want to make sure that your ads will not be wasted on people who live in some 3rd world hellhole. Stick with the US, Canada, western Europe, Australia, etc.

Depending on your budget clicks can be better or impression can. I remember firing up an ad onto Facebook when I was first starting out. Naively targeted all women 18-24 (niche specific) and selected pay for impressions. I wanted to just use $20 as a test to see what would happen.

It took all but six minutes after the ad was approved for my $20 to be completely gone. In that time? I had ONE click. So my advice is that if you use Facebook (like I have continued to do) use their awesome demo information to get really targeted with your ad displays.

Don't try to target everywhere and also try to tighten up your target since your budget is low, you are doing some kind of broad targeting and that would definitely eat into your budget.

Are you targeting the gaming users? As if you are then your set age preferences are fine. But if your not, and your targeting the IM audience, then you will want to set the age requirements for serious people which are 25-65 as this age group makes up 72% of social users leaving the other 28% as everyone else, you do the numbers. All the best.
