Does anyone know how to "stack" WordPress blog posts?

Been trying to figure this out but can't find any information at all on how to do this...

Instead of seeing the entire blog post when you land on your homepage I want to show just the title and a snippet of the blog post to have more blog titles and posts appear on the homepage.

Anyone know how to do this?

Carl Ocab does this on his blog along with other blogs I've seen

    Open your article and click on the HTML tab. Click behind the word where you want to cut it off and click the "more" button in the WISIWGY bar.

    I hand select my cutoff locations. You want to cut it off at a point that peaks curiosity. It is kinda like cutting to a commercial right before "it" goes down.

    Thanks Andy, exactly what I was looking for

    @bitbot I absolutely see the benefit in that and something I was thinking about, for this particular blog I'm building though that would be WAY too much work hand selecting all the blog posts, lol
