Need To Change Mailing List Providers - Suggestions?

I currently use 1ShoppingCart's mailing list features but I'm not really happy with them. I'm almost certainly going to switch.

What suggestions do folks have for a new provider that will do the whole opt-in/auto-responder list building thing?

I've heard good and bad about Aweber. I also heard someone mention Mail Chimp also.

Thanks!

Ken

I am using aweber from the last 4 years and am very happy with them. I think They have been recommended by many well known marketers.

I'd recommend Aweber too. Its ease of use is unrivaled, and I have yet to see any competitor match it in terms of features and user-friendliness. It may be a bit more expensive, but I feel that its worth every bit of it!

If your list is currently confirmed opt-in, then AWeber is
a great choice as they'll let you import your list directly
without having to have your list re-opt-in.

In addition, AWeber integrate with 1ShoppingCart on the
shopping cart side via a parser so you can continue to
use 1ShoppingCart for your cart and then begin to use
    AWeber for your autoresponder.

If your list is single opt-in, then you may want to consider
iContact who will allow you to import your list directly into
their system without requiring your subscribers to confirm.

Email Marketing - iContact (no affil.)

If you want to change shopping cart too, then you could
consider a more advanced all-in-one solution such as
Infusionsoft or use AWeber in conjunction with a system
    like Nanacast.

I use fellow Warrior Richelo Killian's ImnicaMail.

After a few teething problems this system is working very well now.

He is currently running a WSO where you can purchase from $6.30 per month for a list of5,000 to $80.50 for 100,000 and lots of other options in between.

Thanks Everyone! Looks like I'll be checking out Aweber. Just like everything in this business though huh? Test, test, test.

      Cheers!

We're using both Aweber and Getresponse but my first choice would be Aweber.

    Hey Ken Theriot

I used to like aweber and they are great for beginners but if you really want to get into email marketing and segment your liste and use testing and analytics to your full advantage I would go with mailchimp.

Aweber is great and fantastic for the last 4 years, but where it is going in the future is not very far ahead. Mailchimp on the other hand have really stepped up the game and made a new benchmark for email marketing and autoresponders with the introduction of their social pro service. Also their ability to segment lists is far above that of aweber and they have a much more friendly and helpful customer service team.

So on those grounds I recommend mailchimp.

    hope you have fun experimenting

I use both AWeber and MailChimp. Eventually I'll be using MC 100%, but I don't think they like IM, so some of you might not find them useful.

If you already have a list that is double optin - :WizardResponderPro: will allow you to import them without a further confirmation message being sent
(Naturally they would need to be genuine leads from another reputable autoresponder - not some 'gathered' or bought leads!)

Remember that your list is one of the most important
      assets in your business.

Therefore, choose your autoresponder provider wisely.

AWeber have been successfully serving the needs of
Internet Marketers and other list owners for over 10
      years.

Sure, there are some companies that offer 'cheaper'
options, but do they have a proven track record of
high deliverability and great customer support?

AWeber is a proven solution. Period.

        Hey Shaun

Aweber are great and I agree they have the years of experience to back it up. However coming to the future aweber is falling behind in the autoresponder series with the development of social media and the new capabilities with the effect of HTML 5 coming in and also using advanced API's.

I know this personally as I Loved aweber until I was converted to mailchimp because of the analytics and advanced segmentation that have allowed me to really get close and build strong relationships with my subscribers. Which is what aweber lacked

That is why I support Mailchimp over Aweber. They certainly have stepped up the game

mailchimp do let you do affiliate marketing, I was talking about this in another post. You just need to talk with a customer rep to show that you are a legit provider actually providing content and awesome products to your subscribers. They are just trying to protect their own servers and proxies from getting a high spam counter.

    Aweber is awesome!

I will never move back to a cheap or free ar or any of those.. I just felt like I wasn't getting the support I want.. For a company to be trustworthy enough to hold my mailing list, I need a phone number and a live chat.. So when I need support, I know its there.. With aweber, I find sometimes my mail delays for 5 mins.. I contacted support once, and the person investigated it... They didn't tell me to wait or anything..

Good Customer Service is what makes a Company.

    Ken,
you can't go wrong with Shaun's post. Great information there, but I will expand a bit on it:

with aWeber you'll need to prove the double opt in, usually with an IP address and/or a date/time stamp. They'll then help you do the import.

With iContact, you can do the import yourself, since asking them to do it may or may not work out. Technically they don't like this but do turn sort of a blind eye to it. They do know when its done and then watch your account pretty closely for bounces and of course SPAM complaints. If you get a certain threshold of complaints they can suspend your account. They'll also for certain flag your sends for review before releasing them to the mail servers. Not this is not bad - and only introduces a slight delay.

As Shaun said - if you can't prove double opt in then iContact is a solution.

    best,
