When Article Marketing....

I think keeping the anchor text constant in all the back links helps search engines remember your site. Changing it rapidly will loose the effect. Though I am not sure abt what goes inside the Search engines.

As of mine, I have kept all the back links text constant and has worked, now my site has been successfully indexed within 4 days of launch.

I even vary links, not just anchor text.

My strategy is to try to have my targeted keyword phrase in the anchor text. If it does not make sense in the context of my article I will go with another closely related phrase. (This is rare, since the article was written with purpose.)

I DO NOT send all my links to the same page in my blogs. They go to a blog post which is consistent with the anchor text.

My experience is creating links which are coming into scattered locations within your blog or website is more beneficial than just pointing to your home page. You increase the value of your entire site, not just one page.

I don't really care about anchor text. At all. I focus on content (without too much focus on keywords either) ... and, yes, I do make sales every time.

Think of it this way.

Your article is just a new web page for your site. Its just an extension of your web site.

So your article should compliment the content on your site and be written in such a manner as to supplement a page or blog post on your site.

Your hyper linked keyword or keyword phrase needs to be woven naturally into your article content and it should point to the relevant page on your web site.

One of the best things to do is use a keyword tool that will give you LSI keywords that relate to your keyword or keyword phrase.

Write articles about the LSI term and weave in your main keyword or keyword phrase into the article and point them to the main page about that topic.

Example:
You have a site about outdoor grills.
So some LSI keywords would be. gas grills, charcoal grills, propane grills, portable grills, camping grills etc. etc.

Write an article about each one but point it to the main page you have that is an overall page about outdoor grills.

I vary the backlinks to my site, sometimes link with the keyword, sometimes my name, and sometimes just the domain. We'll let google be the judge of what they like, since they won't tell me :-)

It doesn't really matter; I target my chosen KW phrase
