Does anyone here run an e-commerce site using the WordPress platform?

Hello Warriors,

I was just creating a blog in the clothing and apparels niche, and then it dawned upon me that I could as well have a store on the site (Wicked Genius me, right? LOL j/k. ).

So, I just wanted to know if it's a good idea to go ahead with the store idea. What plugins should I use? Are there any good WordPress themes to run an e-commerce store?

What are your experiences with running e-commerce stores using WordPress?

    It really depends on how feature rich you want your store to be. Most of the shopping cart scripts have really good hacks and plugins that help you with everything from inventory to accounting. You won't find that in a WordPress plugin. I suggest going with one of the known carts, but also use WordPress to publish your articles, reviews, announcements, etc.

      Hey EBR (I like that branding by the way ),

      I was thinking that more was needed for WordPress along the lines of e-commerce too; but with the Warrior Forum, you never know - some Warriors just know how to max things out... so I was (and still am) hoping to find someone that is doing well with e-commerce sites (with a lot of mega features ) using WordPress plugins and themes.

      By the way, do you have experience with any shopping cart scripts that might help? Or maybe you can suggest some based on what you've heard?! Thanks

    I think it is fun to use.

    It is better you try out a few styles before actually using one because you will be using it day in day out.

    I run two store both are admin/seo friendly :

    There are a lot of great plugins for wordpress to run a store and while Brian says it is not as diverse as some other platforms it will do everything you want with much better SEO etc.

    We use this one as it also has a good affiliate program you can run with it plus you can use the shop on multiple sites.
