Success rarely comes without trying hard, so that one is a given. Of course I fell down. Many times. I have had many failures sandwiched in between successes. Anybody that hasn't failed, usually hasn't succeeded.

    > how long it takes for you?

I started marketing online back in 1999. It was a roller coaster ride of ups and downs for quite some time, but I managed quite a few home runs during the ride. Nowadays, I try to recognize the potential success of an endeavor as quickly as possible. If it's working, I continue full steam ahead. If it's not working, I move on quickly.

    > what business model did you take?

Throughout the years, I have sold tangible items, produced online entertainment, and did the affiliate thing. These days, 80% or more of my income is from my own products.

    > how did you feel about your failure online?

I don't think anybody feels good about failing. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes. Making the same mistakes again and again is not the path to success.

    > etc whatever you want to share

You need to find out what works for you personally. You can start with somebody else's blueprint, but eventually you will have to incorporate your own twists and personality into what you are doing. Persistence is the key. Learn from your mistakes and move on. When you settle into something that is profitable, you should always be looking for ways to improve and expand. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket and always have a backup plan.

Really hard - when I first started, I blew through 2,000 bucks on google adwords - ended in complete failure - and 2k in debt.

Then I tried article marketing, which was a success - but I had to work my ass off at first. I wrote nearly 20 articles or so a day and a 3 day, 90 articles experiment which made me loads of money. I reinvested what I could and started making my own products.
    • how long it takes for you?
From first try to success/profit? About 6 months. I studied hard at first (after my 2k disaster), then applied by working really hard.
    • what business model did you take?
It was simple article marketing + video marketing at first. I was an affiliate marketer. I quickly changed to making my own products in the niche, then moved into IM to teach others.
    • how did you feel about your failure online?
It sucked - and I still fail a lot. Failed product idea's, failed saving plans, failed goals. It happens, it's PART of success. Failure is just results of a system - and is feedback for how to better the system. If you look at it that way, you can quickly overcome the failures and have more successes.

Learning and Doing are the same thing. You can study for 8 hours a day, but in all honesty 4 hours of REAL DOING is probably equal to 16 hours of study.

I just read in one of Jason Fladliens reports that you should do a 1 to 1 ratio of reading/studying to actual doing. That's 1 hour of study for 1 hour of action.

    That's to start.

By the time you are done, it should be 1 to 16 - 1 hour of learning to 16 hours of action.

It was a good example and fits well here. Action will provide experience which is probably worth WAY more than "book knowledge".
