My Valentinesday Marketing Failed - Did Yours?

So I decided to steer away from my typical blogging and take a shot at creating a site around valentinesday and creative items to give girlfriends on the big day. I talked about mostly kindles, engraved necklaces and a pair of heart earings.

Over the course of the two months which this site existed I created maybe 6 articles and 3 blog posts.

From this effort I received almost 100 visits and had 14 amazon clicks, but no sales.

Considering the fact that I put almost no effort into this (5 minutes blogging each post and 5 minutes each article so about 45 minutes total) these are actually pretty interesting.

Did you take a shot at valentinesday this year? Were you successful? How much time did you put into it? Did you explore social media such as youtube or twitter?

I did not. I have some other holiday sites that go like gangbusters and make a nice profit every year consistently.

I looked at Valetine's Day and couldn't quite get my head around it in a way that I would not have to create an all encompassing site. So I passed it by this year.

I will take a look through the keywords though and see if I can shake any subniches loose.

I put together a blog that pulled in about 400 uniques that converted at about 6%. All said and done not bad for about 30 minutes work. I just wish I had put a little more effort into it...maybe next year

I would say that a site taking 45 minutes to build that netted 100 visits and 14 clicks isn't all that bad really, even if it didn't convert. It should give you some direction for next season if you keep it alive. You know...gifts for women can run year round, not just on Valentines day
