Making an E book question..

Okay I have finished my E book. I went to OpenOffice to do it but not sure if it is in PDF form. How do I put it in PDF and how do I make this PDF a downloadable link so people can access my e book ??

Probably pretty basic stuff but appreciate the help in the most simple layman terms !!

    File > Export as PDF

Creating a downloadable link involves uploading to your server... I use e-junkie for my downloads so I don't really know how to access it from there.

To convert to a pdf, just go to your "Control Panel", select your printer, and then change the print from your default printer to Adobe PDF.

Regarding uploading to your server, you will need to FTP the document to your server. However, if you are planning to sell, I would suggest using a program such as DLGuard, which is excellent and only requires a one-time payment, than paying monthly for E-junkie.

I'm in the same boat, I wrote an Ebook, made a website for it, and went through Clickbank but I don't know how to create the download link. So I just told them to e-mail me with their Clickbank receipt and I will e-mail them a copy personally. This is just until I figure out how to do the download link.

I have a PLR business and I used to send content manually after selling it through paypal. That was a difficult process because of spam filters and people didn't love waiting. I use DLGuard now. It was a one time fee and Sam was great to work with. It's also pretty easy to upload products to it (and I'm not the most technologically advanced individual). I highly recommend it.

I´m not sure which part you grabbed and where you are lost...

        1) you have your open office file open.
now look into the save options or export options and see if you can export as pdf. If you see the option then do it and you have this step done.

if not, you might have to install a driver to print to pdf. But, that comes only if you can´t save.

        2) do you have a website already?
if you do, you must have an ftp username and password that your hosting gave you.

Download filezilla, it is an open source ftp manager and fill the blanks on top with the name of the site, the username and the password.

you will usually see on your right the folders.

look for public_html and click on it

there you will create a folder to hold your file (rightclick, you will see the option).

        upload the file.

you can call the link from any place and see it.

Now, this is the basic. With this method anyone who know a bit can find your ebook and grab it. This is why there are other systems used, like e-junckie that will hold your file in a protected location (if it is for sale).

e-junkie is not the only option.

see if you can reproduce these steps and we take it from there.

You can copy and paste it into a ms word document and then save it as a pdf. Simple

To make it downloadable: Add it to as a new media upload, if you are using wordpress like a image. Copy the URL of the location it is stored and link that URL like any other link in your editor. This is assuming you are using wordpress. Easy.

You may also find a free download button on google and use that as the download link rather than a text link. Just save the download link you find on the net to your desktop and upload it to your media library. Then insert it in your post or page and link it to the location URL of your ebook PDF just like you link an image

    * Note: You should use the location link URL of your PDF ebook in aweber and get your vistors to opt in to your aweber list before they recieve the download link. This way you build your subscriber list
