Hi,

I'm interested to know thoughts about the best autoresponders out there.

Most courses I've bought seem to recommend Aweber as the autoresponder of choice.

I myself use Aweber and have done so for some time. I have no complaints but am struggling to make much money....yes I know, keep at it and all that. However I'm thinking of looking at other autoresponders which perhaps don't require a monthly fee.

Is it just reliability and a reputation of that reliability that Aweber thrives on, or do they genuinely offer more than the myriad of other, cheaper alternatives?

There are a number of self hosting auto-responder options out there, but that's usually for big volume fringe marketers.
MailChimp is one that offers 1000 subscriber services for free, but their TOS prohibits most popular affiliate marketed products, but if you happen to be involved in 'safe' products it might be worth a look.

Here's a quick review of autoresponder services, the comparisons show they are all in the same ballparkpark price wise, though the last Aweber increase is not reflected in the charts.
Thanks for the review link. I'll have a look.

Have a look at Imnica Mail for a cheaper alternative. They don't have all the fancy stuff as Aweber, but they seem fine.

Also, you'll get a special Warrior discount because a Warrior member is behind the service

    I don't think it's the autoresponder.

Disclaimer: I'm an "in your face" kinda marketer. Please don't take it personal.

The truth is that aweber is a great deal. You have to tweak what you're promoting
right now to get to the financial goal you're reaching for.

Without aweber, you're missing out on a potential list that can bring you thousands
    of dollars.

A cheaper alternative? I would switch mindsets and find out how to make more money.

You can't afford to go cheap on an autoresponder.

    I hope this drives you.
    Make it great!

Thanks Gil, I think a new mindset might be the way to go.

Everything is a bit of a stuggle at the moment and I'm doing the classic penny pinching routine instead of addressing what I'm really doing wrong.

Thanks for the kick up the behind. Aweber shall remain in place.

Aweber is only $19/month. if you can't afford that, you're in for a heap of trouble.

If you're penny pinching, I think you should look for things OUTSIDE of your IM business to cut back on. (perhaps entertainment expenses, restaurants, drinks... etc.)

Does Aweber have any advantages over iContact that I might might be aware of? (so far from my testing iContact seems to be basically the same as Aweber)

Aweber has been around for years - it's easily the best!

If you're short of money start with MailChimp!

There customer support is nothing short of awesome!

Unless they catch you using their service for affiliate marketing (or any one of the huge list of other activities prohibited by their terms of service), in which case they close you down, you lose your list, and then they won't even reply to your emails after that, on the grounds that they give customer support only to active members, and you're not one any more ...

... according to many Warriors who've built up and suddenly lost lists at MailChimp, and posted here in threads about the horror of the situation they suddenly face.

And the moral of the story is: always read the terms of service carefully.

Your list is the single most important asset of your internet marketing business. Take no chances with it!

At this moment I'm working on making an autoresponder with aweber, but I'm a bit worried that those people who signed up and later forget about you see your first follow up as spam and report you.

I understood that there is proof or something aweber can give you but do the hosting companies care abouy it if they receive complains about you?

Alternative: why not just put the information you want to give your visiotr on your own website in stead of via your mailing list? Then google can rewards you as well.

Aweber is the market leader, other marketers seem to use getaresponse equally as much. From my perspective Awebber is the best out there, as my experience with other providers has proven.

From an ease of use perspective I find Aweber to be more intuitive and easier to use than iContact.

I really like MailChimp's templates and their system for customizing templates and doing auto responders and setting up campaigns.

I don't recommend MailChimp however, because of their strict anti-spam policy.

I have a list that is a double opt-in newsletter (exactly the sort of thing they say they are used for). But if you have a couple users get trigger happy with the "Report Spam" button in their email because it removes it from their inbox and they see it as being easier than unsubscribing, you will get your account suspended. It happened to me and I switched to Aweber and am very happy with it.
