Thinking about Trying Internet Marketing Again

Hey Everyone:

Back in 2006, I thought I would try and learn how to do some internet marketing. However I didn't so well at it. But I am now thinking about giving it a try again. What would be the best advice for those looking to do internet marketing? I would like to be able to do something working from home.

First of all don't try. When you try you give strength to the opportunity of failing

So instead of trying DO! Trying is for those who set them self's up for failure

Next get a squeeze page up and build a list.

before making the squeeze page, develop a free offer, like an e-book or something like it, to gain peoples emails.... i myself havent been able to do this step yet, due to lack of product to entice people into signing up.

I am starting out with a wordpress website, doing SEO to drive visitors to it, plugged into adsense. Not a huge amount of money made yet, but it is a very easy way to get started.

    Good advice from Gavin!
You definitely should start a list a soon as you can and take action consistently. Needless to say that right before building a list you need to find a niche! So do that first, analyze your competition and the potential of your niche and start taking action!

Oh and buy a domain, it's a small investment and you should definitely have your own website. And of course, educate yourself, learn, apply, test strategies.

    Good luck!

    Hey there pcdoctor,

First of all, congrats on giving IM another whirl!

The 2 best pieces of advice I can give you here are:

    1) Keep hangin' out in the Warrior Forum

    2) Get serious about making it work for you - DON'T just 'try'.

    To elaborate...

#1: The WF is by far the best place to get your feet wet when you're new - and even continue learning new stuff all the time.

Spending as much time as possible reading, learning from, and interacting with people who are ALREADY successful in what you want to accomplish is the absolute best thing you can do.

That being said, be careful how much time you spend in the WSO section. When I first got started here I kinda got sucked in over there - Picking up one WSO after another (and really planning on doing them all)...

But after a while I realized I hadn't gotten anywhere - just spent a bunch of money.

And #2 - Seeing real results from your efforts take a commitment from you - a firm decision that you're going to do it, no matter what it takes.

Don't mean to sound all harsh, but you just won't realize the results you want if you keep that 'I'll try it again' attitude.

Best of luck to you, and again, congrats on getting back into it!

Answer this question first: What do you want to market (what niche?)

Answer this question second: Is this a buyers/hungry niche?

Answer this third: What is the best way to attract this audience who will buy?

Answer this fourth: What knowledge do I need to accomplish putting the product in front of the buyer?

All of which stuff is something that I will need help on. I don't want to have to spend a lot of money and end up getting nothing in return.
