So are you thinking about quitting your job to do internet marketing??

So, the popular thing to do is to post a thread asking what you can do to make money fast. Other people are browsing this forum, maybe they aren't even members yet, and they are tampering with the idea of doing this full time. People every day are wanting to quit their jobs, for a flexible, easy job in internet marketing.

Can you make money fast? Absolutely, but you will need to learn things first... once you have the knowledge, you can make money whenever you want. I had a pretty decent job, until one day, boss CAME to MY house and "let me go". This was a job where I was technically an independent contractor so there goes an unemployment check. I had to move fast... I was working on a couple side projects at the time, so I was OKAY. I also never received my last check from that company.

I was living, paycheck to paycheck... ended up not having a job, and forced to make things work. I made mistakes, I did things the hard way, and got where I am now, but if you still have a job, then KEEP IT!!!!!

If you want to seriously give internet marketing a shot, hell, even offline marketing, you should follow a couple guidelines.

1. Keep your job, start learning while you still have a job! You don't have to quit your job, to spend 20, 30, 45 minutes a day reading up on things, researching, learning different aspects, coming up with ideas.
2. Come up with a plan, and execute the plan! This will give you an idea on how much you can make full time. It doesn't matter if executing your plan, is just on a very small scale.. just do it! Come up with a way that YOU can make money, and DO IT while you're still working!
3. Before you even consider starting your own business... actually, you should be doing this anyway... but before you quit your job for this... Save up 6 months of bills before diving into this. It will save you a whole lot of problems and stress.

I get messages from people, and I get CALLS from people with great ideas, and they don't have a job. Yesterday I received a call from somebody that is about to lose his house, and expects everything to be fine once he has his website up. DON'T be that person. Have 6 months of expenses saved up before you even think about quitting your job!

Depends on your details and if you have a family depending on you. For some people 3 to 4 months (for example) would be enough, others should aim for 3 to 4 years of cushion.

In general, never keep a job you do not like or Love.

10 years ago I would say 3 or 4 months, but with this economy it takes that long to get a job, you need 6 months of expenses saved up, whether you have a family or not.

You also should have no debt biting your ankles. I think 3-4 years of liquid is too much to have and not a smart investment move. The longest any advisor really gives you is 8 months of expenses, and then an additional 10,000 emergency fund. Anything extra you save, great, but put it in retirement, or invest it in something unrelated to internet marketing.

  • I'd say that most of the people in this business are adults, and as such they have common sense to conduct their life the way they think it's best. And if they mess up, it's their responsibility.

You would think that, but common sense isn't very common. We also have quite a few people who are teenagers. I spoke with a 50 year old man yesterday, who is losing everything he has, for this delusional dream. People are star struck when they find out they can make money online, and quit their jobs before doing so!!

Absolutely There may be good and bad days in marketing,Without backup there is full stress even a simple loss will look like a big loss.
The stress will become lower when you have some backup.
Plan yourself and your family surely 6months backup is good.

Just like anything else you would not leave the sure for unsure.

You would have to have a war chest of financial reserves to stave off any losses that you might incur.

So until you are able to find revenue that can hold you for at least 1 year then don't think of leaving your day job.
