If you are selling general domain names then definitely .com but if you are selling specific domain names then you can get away with the others because itll be the name itself that ppl are after and not the value of the domain.

.COM will outsell all other TLDs by a factor of at least 5x (in my experience, about 10x).

Unless you have a specific reason to offer a domain for sale with a specific TLD other than .COM, avoid them until you gain some experience in the domaining business.

That's not to say you can't be successful selling others, but if you want the best chance of selling domains quickly and for 10x more money, stick with .COM. It is by far the most sought after TLD in the marketplace.

This is my advice after being in the business full time for well over 7 years.

It depends,

if you are selling brand new domains then .COM without a doubt

if they are older domains, with backlinks etc it doesn't matter as much.

You can sell domain names without any traffic, baclinks, PR, search volume or any other frills. Naturally, if you DO have any of these extra components, you can expect to charge more accordingly.

No not at all it all depends on how much the buyer wants it at the end of the day and of course it depends on the domain name it's self.

Are you planning on buying domains and then reselling them?

If you are buying new domains i would recommend building a few backlinks to them as this will help sell them for a higher price.

I'm sorry i can't help much as i have only ever sold a couple myself.

Sticking with the topic, where is the best place to sell your site the fastest? and where can you actually get an accurate site value, because I've checked numerous "check your site's value" sites and some say $76, the next one says $7500, and the one after that says $1500. How do I know which figures are correct?

The only real way is to put up for sale....something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.... regards Allen

The hardest thing for most new domainers to understand is that there is no "correct" price or appraisal. The price of a domain name is established mostly by your ability to research very targeted potential buyers, who need the domain name, or at least want it badly enough to make you an offer.

Ask 10 different experts what they think your domain is worth, and you'll get 10 different numbers.

YOU, and only you can decide what you need to get for a particular domain name, and then do whatever it takes to track down that one buyer who agrees that the domain you're selling is worth the price to THEM.

No appraisal service, and no expert can give you any definitive answer. The best they can do is let you know what they think it's worth, based on their past experience, which may be entirely different than what you or your prospective buyer will think.

I can't tell you how often "experts" have told me that my domain is worth nothing more than the registration fee, and I went on to find the right buyer for a four-figure price.

The value is what you and your prospective buyer agree on, period.

It isn't the extension that gives it value entirely. It also has to be a good domain name with commercial intent. You would do better to go to namepros.com and learn more about selling domain names before just buying them and trying to sell them.
