Grab #1 Ranking on Google for Your Offline Business (For Free)

This is a trick I learned from when I was working for an offline business.

Here's how you do it:

1. Go to Google Maps

2. Click "Put your business on Google Maps" and follow the steps

3. Wait for a few weeks for you business to get listed.

The result -

eg. If I wanted to search for Pizza in Melbourne

Click: Pizza Melbourne - Google Search

There, your business will show up in the results. (if your business is located
in some unknown town, be sure to use the town closest to you with higher search volumes)

That's a great tip for people pursuing IM consulting to offline businesses. I'll keep that in mind.

    Thanks!

It can actually be much faster than that - I listed a friend's business in Cincinnati last week - it showed up within the hour!

It's a great service - and she now shows up ahead of a major chain that is her biggest competitor in local search!

Not sure how Google decides, but yeah it can be fast or slow. I guess it's a bit of luck as well.

It can be that easy, yes, BUT unless you put up a web page, even a single page to support the Google maps info it is easy to knock them off.

Google Maps is actually a really good source on income for local businesses.
but It only works with actual materialistic businesses egizza Parlour, barbour etc.

Great Tip and you are right, I have just added a post to my blog about this and over at LBB Forums! To add to this though:

    1. Add a review! - Add a review to your business listing and watch it boost up the 10 on the first page!

    2. Keyword Rich Domain - Grab on of these for your clients and you will see domination in the top 10, guaranteed!

Now optimize the website aswell and grab a top page spot in the organioc listings and BAM, you can now see to positions on the top page! Total domination!

Great information. I've been considering getting into offline consulting, in addition to my on online business. If anyone reads this and has any offline consulting experience they would like to share, I'm sure it would be appreciated.

Another tool to add the package.
But I don't get the part where Goolge calls you?

Can this be done outside of USA?

Combine some of the posts in this one thread and you have a kick butt technique.

I never really gave any thought to the idea of those without web sites being knocked out.

    That is good to know.

    Great job and thanks.

Google Maps is a great add on service you can offer or even give free to your local business clients.

There are a few more secrets to getting top rankings when other businesses of the same kind are listed in the same area.

      Kindest regards,

This would be a neat way to grab new clients as well - for a couple of minutes of your time you can show the business prospect their new listing in Google maps.

        Nice credibility booster!

        Thanks for sharing,
