INTERNET MARKETING

Been thinking to post this and always forget about it. Here goes:

Last year decided to create a couple small videos to promote one site, nothing fancy, just trying to create something that could go viral, have people commenting, pushing the video UP for those keywords.

So I used my handycam and recorded 45 seconds videos of weird stuff totally related to my niche market - but really weird/provocative/funny/stupid. I branded the videos with URL, as usual, and placed a link in Description Box along some small text.

Now, a year after, one of the videos has 120K views and the other 77K views. The best part is all the traffic I get from these 2 videos, cause now they are in others people channels, other video sites, etc etc. Thousands of comments have been made, people call me crazy, others call me idiot, others ask for their time back (lol) and others just say "Yeah!!!".

....

So yes, even a moron like me can create 2 small viral videos, put the web community discussing them, and have a different source of traffic to my website.

If I can do it, so can YOU.

Grab a camera and think outside the box.

This absolutely works Fernando. Congratulations!

I've had some success with some viral video marketing just recently. I posted an iPhone ad parody and it got 2500 views in the space of two weeks. I'm now planning to produce more of these alongside my own more traditional 'marketing tips' videos.

Great work on your vids. I hope it inspires people on here to do it for themselves.

That is one area that I have not done a lot of work in but understand the significance of video marketing. Did you only put these 2 videos that you made on 1 site? (For example: only youtube)

There are many viral sites out there and to get even better results is to put this on all sites.

trafficgeyser.com is a great site to help in this for a fee.

  Youtube is a GREAT source for traffic and you can even put a naked link in the vid description. For one of my sites the top traffic comes from Google and then YOUTUBE.

Nice Fernando!

I started doing the same thing for my review sites a few months ago and it helps a heck of a lot on all fronts- sales, rankings, traffic.

I wondered how to acquire usage of a camera, then I realized I had one on my iPhone! No need to buy a thing (...if you happen to have an iPhone:p). But the point is, they don't need to be perfect quality to still be useful to the visitor.

I've used my Canon Handycam camera, but in a totally amateur way. I really believe thats one of the reasons videos got so high in Youtube: they are controversial-funny-provocative-amusing and total amateurish

One of them is really provocative and people almost "fight" while commenting that one.... LMAO

Thing is: these two dominate one of the most cool keywords ever on Youtube, so theres traffic, sales and a LOT of brand Awareness.

But that's NOT the point of my thread: Point is, viral videos can be done with a small hand camera, you just need to step outside and think outside the box.

Thats really EASY.

haha, sorry if I sounded like I was having a go. I didn't mean it to sound anything like that. I mean it's great the result you have.

I am just the sort of person that likes to see the full picture from the marketing side of things.. and ya, that's the main reason I come to this forum. There are kids out there that post videos and get 100's of thousands of views, even millions but they don't make a penny from the traffic because that's not why they do it, they just do it for fun or to make a statement. I do it because I want traffic that will buy and convert, that's just the honest truth so that's why I ask.

I can understand that it may not be the point you intended to make.
If you do release a wso and charge $25 for it, let me know. I will gladly buy

I agree with you... Videos really work far better than anything else on the internet. Perhaps, to go viral with a video you need to have it backed with an outstanding idea which must also go parallel with your niche, which becomes a little difficult.

I've been thinking about doing some short videos. I haven't done any before. Does any have any good resources I could use to see/learn the process of creating a video and uploading it one of the viral video sites. I don't have any experience in this, but really would like to learn.

Well just to make a point here if you actually managed to make a very successful viral video and duplicate the formula you could apply to the YT partnership program and earn passive income from the views.

A lot of popular channels/YTubers started this way and ended up having an income just by producing great content that people enjoy watching.

What I believe sets this apart from other marketers is that when people visit video sharing sites they don't want to watch infomercials, they are there for the entertainment value.

However if you get sent to YT or the like from someone saying something like : "be sure to check my YT channel for more great free tips and secrets", most people find it ok.

This is an area where marketers would need to be creative. Being in the IM niche myself creating these viral videos is quite difficult.
