What are some good programs teaching how to build lists?

Your autoresponder will take care of a lot of the technical issues with setting up your list so I'd suggest going over the videos they have.

List building really isn't that hard...

Pick a niche market and find out their WORST problem

Create something that solves that problem (ebook, video, interview etc)

Give that away for free on a squeeze page that has an attention grabbing headline and some bullet points and tells them to enter in their details

For immediate profits either redirect to an affiliate offer that solves some additional problems or create a low price info product that gives them some additional solutions to start getting them in your customer list

Then spend some money on solo ads and pay other (targeted) marketers to email their list promoting your free item.

Once you have a decent size list you can start promoting other products and do cross promotions (adswaps) to continue to grow it.

That pretty much sums up a lot of the list building courses out there and if you follow that you will build a list very quickly. I'd advise against most of the "free" methods as oftentimes they take too long for you to see the necessary successes in order for you to stick with it.

I recommend Jason Fladlien's "7 Super Simple List Building Tactics".

Also, Ryan Deiss' "Ultimate List Building System" is very good aswell.

I'd recommend one called "simple list building" (search for it on google)
It was recently sold with MRR and it was created by 3 well known and
very successful internet marketers/warrior members.

You're on the right path, list building is key to long-term success...

And I've tested this with one of my offers. I took out the squeeze page and started driving traffic direct to my sales offer. 1% conversion. And the other 99% left, most likely never to be seen again (unless I do re-targeting). But with my squeeze page in tact, I can convert 5-7%, most over time.

So anyway, there's a ton of WSO on the site, search and invest in a few. But realize that building a list is all about your ability to drive traffic, so I recommend you get good at driving traffic to your site(s) so you can build your list.

a good place to start is list joe, it lets you mail up to 5,500 people every 5 days? another good one i use is micro email ads, you don't get loads of emails in your inbox, so that's always helpful.

But list building is largely a by product of good marketing generally. Your list grows with your traffic.

I need to work on my traffic in order to build my list. going to try youtube.

no. going to try to put youtube videos up with a call to action to visit my squeeze page.

Personally I got the List control from frank kern and I've learn a lot of awesome stuff from it.

Here's a mistake i did back then:

I created a good looking opt-in page.

Attached an enticing giveaway.

Thank you page was an affiliate offer.

And then i just continued sending information and offers through my newsletter.

WHICH I REALIZED NOW... WAS WRONG!

Your list will not want to read information from the email itself. Its just plaintext which is BORING. Always give them a sneak peak and then link them to your blog/website/affiliate offer/etc... This transform my list response tremendously!
