UH OH, having some buyers remorse about the War Room!!

by Joey89
40 replies
Well, I had about 40 bucks invested in starting up my business. I put it on paypal. So anyway, I feel that I could of made a better investment by purchasing a domain name and web hosting or signing up for a web builder site to get my webpage out on the web.

But I invested it in the War Room Subscription.

So I basically have like 5 bucks left in my paypal account.

Where should I go from here?

I am calling on the power of the almighty Internet Marketing gods to hear me Or maybe some well respected warrior members lol.

Where should I go from here?

Thank you very much for reading!

Since you just paid for war room, and don't have any money left, I suggest you go into the war room for ideas to make money. That's what you paid for, use it

I couldn't agree with this more.

TAKE ACTION on the information inside.
And if you need additional funds to get everything started, do whatever it takes, mow yards, have a garage sale, sell stuff on ebay/craigslist, heck go collect cans....whatever it takes.

Remember: Those who REALLY want to make it will always find a way. Those who don't, will find excuses.

You can always ask for a refund, be happy to give you one.

I'm thinking that may not actually help you though. You posted this earlier today:

So what do you think I should do admin?

Utilize the information in the war room?

Its tough though, there's a lot of things to go through.

What would you recommend me study first, being in my situation?

I recommend at this point you take up Allen's offer for the refund. You purchased a war room subscription and then took no action. You may not have the stomach for this business. It takes time, patience, effort and work.

I think it has more to do with mindset than anything else.

You do NOT get a trophy for joining the War Room. Whatever trophy you have in mind, it only comes AFTER reading and putting the examples and ideas into use - whethers it's a HUGE list of adoring fans or a HUGE bank account! Neither of which happen overnight. Neither of which happen without a LOT of work.

You do NOT get a secret link to download the "real" Pixie Dust by joining the War Room.

What you get are WSOs from people who have been there, done that telling what they did, what worked and what didn't, and endless places where you can jump in and put this or something like to very good use in your business. Many of these reports are free, without opt-in, others may cost US$7-12, some a little more.

If you're not able to invest an hour a day or so to read through those threads, following up on the free ones that grab your interest, then by all means get a refund and be done with it! IM is simply not right for you.

My strategy has been to simply start. I didn't care what I was doing, as long as I was doing something. Sure enough, the path begins to show itself.

I also signed up for the War Room early on and in all honestly, I haven't gained a lot from it yet. However, that doesn't mean the value isn't there. I'm just not at the stage to extract it yet. Once I get a few things rolling, I'll try out some of the systems mentioned there.

Just because I see his name above me, check out CDarklock's article writing book in his sig. Free, can use it instantly for cash and very newbie friendly.

Whether you stick with the War Room or go with something else, you're going to have to develop a plan. Getting a domain name and hosting won't do you any more good than anything else if you don't know how you're going to use those tools to start down the road to a business.

Take some time and figure out what you're good at or what you know that other people will pay for. Take an honest look at your approach to work, and look for something that fits your working style. Then create a step-by-step plan for making it happen.

Very much agreed regarding the rush thing. Have not seen too many people get rich quick with IM but I have seen MANY get rich over time (dedicated time!). Go make another couple bucks. Get a hostgator acct. Get a namecheap acct and then go from there. You can almost buy two domains with that $5 btw.

I know hostgator is a web hosting account, I plan on getting a reseller account for that. Whats a namecheap account? Is that like godaddy?

          Hi Joey!

I commend you for joining the War Room.

Godaddy and NameCheap are both domain name registrars where you register your whatever.com name. Hostgator (and the better hostthename.com) are domain hosting where you put up your own web pages on the net.

I've been with warriorforum.com for several years now and it can be easy to just read, read read and not do do do and thus sometimes you suffer from information overload. Just pick something you like and follow thorugh with it!

If I or anyone else here can be of help, don't hesitate to ask, but we do ask that you use the SEARCH function first to see if your question has already been answered.

          Take care.

Here's what I suggest and it's essentially the plan I use for my coaching
            students.

Step 1 - Make a list of your skills and interests. I guess first you need
to know the difference between the two.

            Skills

            Can play piano
            Can play tennis
Can write computer programs in C language.

            Interests

            Listening to music
            Reading history books
            Alternative medicine

Step 2 - Go through each list and write down all the possible ways
to monetize each item on it. Some will have no monetization means.

            For example.

Playing piano - Creating online course for teaching piano.
Playing tennis - Same as above
Writing C programs - Write a book on the subject teaching the language

Listening to music - Something many people do via buying CDs, downloading
from Itunes, etc. You could create a CD review site and sell CDs via Amazon.

History books - Pick a historical topic and write your own book with your
            own slant on the subject.

Alternative Medicine - Research an area of interest, maybe something that
you have a personal health issue with. Try out a natural treatment and
track your results. If positive, write a book about your experience. Be
careful with this one because of various legal and ethical aspects.

            Step 3 - Once you've found a subject you're interested in, do
keyword research to determine two things.

            1. How much demand there is for the area in question.
            2. How much competition there is in that area.

This is the part that most people screw up because they don't understand
how to interpret the figures and accurately evaluate supply and demand.
You get good at this part only by diving in and doing it.

Step 4 - Once you determine that an area has sufficient demand
and little enough competition so that cracking into a corner of the market
isn't going to be like taking on Donald Trump, next you have to determine
exactly how you will make your mark.

            Create a product?
            Create a service?
            Sell products as an affiliate?
            CPA?
            Adsense?
            Authority Site?
            Mini Sites?

            And so on.

Step 5 - After you have decided what you're going to do, the next
step is to put together a creation plan?

            What will you create yourself?
What will you outsource to others?
What tools will you need to pull this off (domain, hosting, web authoring, etc.)

Most people don't realize how much is involved in setting up a business,
which includes making a comprehensive business plan.

How much do you have to spend?
How much do you want to earn (in 30 days, in 90 days, in 6 months, etc.)

Step 6 - Actually beginning work on the plan itself until the business
            itself is created.

Step 7 - Marketing. This one step alone can cover so many areas
that many people get lost in it. My advice is to focus on ONE traffic generation
at a time and then move on to the next one after the previous one is at
            least sufficiently on its way.

What's sufficient? That varies from niche to niche.

The above is but an empty shell of what's really involved here. Once you
get to the details, you will begin to see that, just as in the brick and mortar
world, a lot, and I do mean a LOT of planning goes into a successful
            business.

And even with all that, you can fall short in so many areas, not the least
of which is misjudging the market you're tackling. I've done that myself. So
            I am speaking from experience.

Hopefully, the above will be enough to get you started.

            Good luck.

I did take some action, which was buying the subscription for the war room because I heard that it was one of the best investments people made.

I also have a strong desire to start a business online. I have been studying and learning about IM, more than any topic in my life. I have a strong vision for myself and I am not letting it die, it inspires me. Even though I am having a tough ass time, virtually no one believing in me, I am still going through with my goals and vision even if that means having to work 9-5 for some time, I am going to have to. My options are limited at this point.

As many have said there is a lot of great information available in the War Room. It is a good investment.

Just dig in and follow Caliban's advice to do some research. Then narrow down on to what it is that you want to do.

You can start without a website and work from there, but decide what it is you want to do and Focus on it. Remember Focus is to "Follow One Course Until Succesful". Don't get sidetracked and

This is what I've got from this forum if you're in need of money... Offer your services,
is there anything you like to do and you're good at? There has to be something.. If you like writing you can use that $5 you have left to make a warriors for hire thread where you write articles, you like graphics? Make a thread that sells logo creation or something like that.

Make some Fiverr gigs, upload a video with it so it's credibility rate goes up and see your sales rolling in. If you have a good webcam you can even sell video testimonials.

Anyways, just my $0.02. I have yet to invest my money in a war room subscription but I'm sure I will after I earn my first few bucks!

War Room membership is best investment I ever made. I have learned many new things on seo and other marketing avenues. I have used some of systems advertised and made money. I am grateful for and happy I joined.

My advice do not chase the money, there is no magic wand. Do something you love and experiment with monetization until you hit a target.
I have made mistakes and learned and changed, I still make mistakes and I still change. If you desire to make money online you will eventually, its a slow and steady process.
WARNING The war room can be very alluring with all the flashing lights and good sales copy. One of my greatest breakthroughs is when I realized I did not need to buy everything. I have made money selling domains, through adsense, from fiverr and doing web promotion and seo for offline business in my city.

Last Tidbit of Advice: set clear goals of what you want to accomplish before sitting down at computer. Then do it. So many marketers fail simply because they fail to set tasks and complete them.

You seem to have the attitude that the $40 you invested in the War Room is the last $40 you'll ever have. That's not the most positive outlook to start off with. Why not focus on free ways to make some money for now? The War Room has lots of suggestions, as well as the main discussion area. Think, for example, of services you could offer on Fiverr.com.

War Room is definitely the best you can get for $35 bucks.

Read as much as possible to get a good idea about how the system works.

Decide on a niche - go for VALUE (where a lot stuff is sold) and not worry about competition.

Research the first websites on Google for the best keyword. Try to find out WHY they are there and why they are successful (design, copy, images, freebie, backlinks etc.)

Set a goal what you wanna achieve in terms of earnings (don't dream about thousands a day right from the start, OK). Get a realistic goal like $500 for the first month.

Make a plan how to achieve that goal. Amount of visitors needed with 1% sales conversion, amount of commission per sale etc. - basic marketing plan.

Then go to Namecheap and get yourself a .net domain for the $5 left. Main keyword in the domain name. Search online for a discount code.

Redirect this domain to Weebly.com and setup your site with weebly as complete as possible. Unique content is a must and give VALUE to your visitors.

Review the BEST selling product in that niche and recommend it to your visitors as a even better solution for their problem.

Go to Icontact and get a free account (up to 500 leads). Get yourself a free PLR report on the market relevant to your offer and give this as a gift for a signup. Rework it a little and give it a new cover over freecovermaker.

Then do ALL YOU CAN to drive traffic to that site. Learn in the War Room how to do this.

PERSIST and don't give up. Work on traffic generation and tweak your site till you get the $500 bucks.

Use Google Analytics to see what your traffic does after he arrives at your site.

Sometimes you can hit a home run and you make money fast, sometimes it takes more time but if you use a proven product people buy, and you offer great value at your site to the same audience (niche) then you evidently WILL make money sooner or later.

Seriously, did someone tell you that you can start a business online with little or no money? While it's possible, it's generally not probable. Regardless of what the "pretty" sales letters tell you, there is no magic formula.

Go back to work, save some money and get your business started properly. Speed up the process and sell some stuff to raise capital.

Even if you had gone with the site and hosting - what then? You still need certain tools (autoresponder, monthly payments for your hosting, etc.) to seriously launch viable marketing campaigns.

Have you even explored your options as a War Room Member? If you are having buyer's remorse before you have even inspected the product/service you purchased - you are not focused.

Instead of calling on non-existent "powers of Internet marketing gods", call on your own power of will and "get er done". It's not going to be as easy as may have been led to believe - but it is possible as many others can attest to.

    Best of luck to you!

I just want to toss in a few thoughts as well. I stumbled across the Warrior forum back in November. I realized at that point that this is what I wanted to do for a living. So I started reading everything I could get my hands on. Shortly after, I joined the War Room myself. I've found a ton of information there that has helped me. I kept trying different things to start my way down the road of IM but nothing seemed to be taking root. Well back in March, I was fired from my very good paying job. I had already worked through many different plans but I decided at that point I was going to make it work.

It's now June, I'm not making a full-time income but I'm making more than I was back in March. It's improving and I'm learning more and more each day. However, it's a lot of work and not all of it works like I expected it to. I wrote a guide on Backlinking and offered it up as a WSO. It's sold a few copies, but I expected it to sell hundreds of copies! (it's a great book you should try it out! <evil grin>, just kidding) I've been working with adsense sites and Amazon sites, which are starting to pick up. I've tried a few other areas and found that I just don't want to do those.

Each thing I have tried, I've learned something new. However, one of the most important things that I learned is that I need to try. Sometimes it does take a small investment into something to 'try' it, but sometimes that investment pays off. Other times it doesn't. But I keep trying.

I've been most successful at offering services here on the forum. I'm building a business and providing a service doing something that I enjoy doing. It wasn't the first thing that I tried, but I eventually found my way around to it.

Having access to the War Room gave me the opportunity to read about ideas or to even try some things that I wouldn't have tried before, because of the cost. I often tell others that are interested in IM, that they need to come to the forums, and read EVERYTHING that they can get their hands in the free section. Find what excites them and keep digging. If you run out of information, then to join the War Room. You can find a ton of information without having to join the War Room, but there is information there that is of value.

I have to agree with some of the posters before me. I too saw your previous post about being excited to be in the War Room. Then to see this post so quickly afterwards, made me think that you were rushing things. It took me days to be able to process through the information available. So if I were you I would give it some time. Either accept the offer for a refund and digest the free information already available on the forums or dive into the War Room and learn all you can.

You can do this if you put your full effort into it. It will take time and it will take a lot of work. But you CAN do it.

Sorry I'm rambling on. I'm just going to hit post before I keep going... !

One of the first products that I ever bought that did make me money is actually in the War Room.

Pick one... any one and follow through. Devote yourself to sticking with one system, plan, method for at least one month. Work at it every day and don't give up, don't get frustrated, don't get depressed. Just work at it.

You have access to more valuable information at one set price than you can find anywhere. Probably thousands of dollars worth of raw information with the potential to make you hundreds of thousands

Ok, so all I have to do is register a domain using dot.tk and you said you would offer web hosting until I can some source of income.

I would also like to know, would I need web hosting for site builders/templates or web authoring software or something like homestead?

      Thanks!

    Just do ONE thing now.

There's a thread in the "My Ideas, Strategies & Plans" sub-forum.
    It's titled:

    Private Posts Volume I

This is the link (I think it only works if you're logged-in and
    a registered War Room member:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/my-ideas...-volume-i.html

    Download that report.

    Read it.

    2 things will happen.
#1 - You'll get a ton of ideas to adopt and follow

    #2 - You'll experience a thrill like you've rarely felt - and be
    energized to take massive action
I'll share some of the six-figure ideas I got in my first reading
    many years ago:
    # "You spend the exact same effort to promote a product
that pays you a one time $10 commission as you do to promote a
product that pays you $10 every month." - Allen Says

    # "I would write reports for the newcomers that educates them
about the real value of what you're wanting them to buy."
    - Allen Says

    # "There's one critical reason why most people fail at making
money on the Internet... They ignore the power of learning
how to write copy." - Allen Says

    # "Your customers will pay you 10 times more to do it for
them than they will for you to teach them how to do it
    themselves." - Allen Says

    # "How To Double The Impact AND The Sales Of Your Book!
Call it a system and NAME that system..." - Allen Says
    Hope this helps

    All success

You better pony up some extra cash for tools and resources... you probably spend more than $40 on less important things like fast food, coffee, and other stuff for yourself and it's not a big deal right?

Why is investing some money into a BUSINESS so scary?

Everyone has some great advice here... but you have to change your employee mindset into a business owner mindset before you go any further.

Just an honest critique from what I can tell about you. No hard feelings
