Need some help re:eBay partner network

Hello guys. Just built my first site ever that went to full completion and actually got on the net, built with being an eBay affiliate in mind.

Problem is, I am from UK, bank and Paypal linked to UK address, but living in Egypt for foreseeable future, so phone number is in Egypt.

I had a smidge of trouble when getting the hosting over this too, but that was sorted when I explained.

Anyone got any advice on whether being in Egypt will be a problem? I do have an eBay account anyway in UK but we don't have eBay in Egypt.

2nd question, is there somewhere here I can post my site and have the experts pick at it and give me some feedback in plain language please??

    I am in a very similar situation to you - I live long-term in Eastern Europe, but my bank and Paypal are all in the UK. I have no problems at all - I get paid to my Paypal fine from my EPN earnings and log in and out of my Paypal all the time. I think they get jumpy if they see you logging in from lots of different geographic IPs in a short space of time. I seem to remember someone here saying they got suspended for that. You MIGHT drop them an email telling them you are going on a "trip", they might flag something on your account to turn off the warning bells. Like I say though, I am not back in the UK every other day and never had any trouble.

    As for getting some advice on your site - have you yet got accepted into EPN? You know it's quite tricky? A LOT of people get rejected, though I think a lot of the time it's just because they don't really make an effort. eBay want a decent business proposal - they got sick of low-value affiliates.

    I wouldn't go posting your site anywhere too public, too many hawks around waiting to steal your ideas. You can PM me the site if you want - I won't steal anything, I see my customers' EPN niche sites all the time, I've got niche sites coming out of my ears I am no guru, but I have a few years' experience with EPN sites - I have a good idea of what works and what doesn't - I might have the odd pointer.

      hey thanks for your reply Mark. I haven't applied yet. They know from my eBay account as a buyer (not frequent) that I am in Egypt as I have no trouble buying from here, it's the problem with them wanting a phone number, and of course mine is Egyptian and not been in UK for 3 years so the ones I had there don't work now!

        Aha, you mean the phone number you have given along with your Paypal account address? The one they use to verify you when you are upgrading to a Premium account? I got someone back in the UK to do that for me (or get it done before you go out to Egypt), I guess the number listed is still that of my contact, but PP don't need that number once you are verified, so you can pretty much put what you want I think.

          PP know me, know I'm in Egypt, eBay know me on the buyer account I have and also know I'm in Egypt, bank knows I'm here too. So I suppose if I click the 'link to my eBay account' all should be ok, will just have to explain situation if they ask?

          why is nothing ever dead easy? :rolleyes:

            Ha, they are not used to us cosmopolitan types. But they will have to adapt - more and more people have fluid living situations like us. You wouldn't believe all the hoops I go through to get paid for stuff. Adsense and Amazon cheques are a REAL pain...

              I wouldn't mind suffering receiving cheques right now, I will grin and bear it somehow
