Haters Gotta Hate! - How do you deal with it?

I just had someone on my blog accuse me of phottoshopping my earnings in a screenshot. I know some people just trolls who want to stir up ****? The picture wasn't even a screenshot, it was a picture taken with my ipod which would probably make it very hard to photoshop.

I thought it was funny so I approved the comment, mentioned there is also a video, and then said Haters gotta hate!

How do you deal with haters?

I view them as a sign of my success. The better known and more successful you are, the more people know who you are. As a result, you end up with a lot more people who love, and unfortunately, hate you.

We tend to do a weird thing to people. First, we root for them when they're the underdogs, then when they make it, we tear 'em down.

Just remember not to take it personally, even though that can be hard at times.

I'm finding there are a lot of jealous types online. If they see someone doing well, they feel threatened. Once I started to make money, I've noticed there is some resentment out there. I would just ignore his post.

That's just the way it, especially on the internet. It's so easy to insult someone else behind a screen name, knowing that there really isn't much you can do to them (unless you are a super hacker, and you ruin their life).

I always just let haters say their fill, and then thank them for their input. That's all you can do. You can never win against someone who really just wants to **** on your success, so just be the bigger person and move on with your life.

Kudos to you for approving the comment and for your check!

For your other readers, leaving the comment there will just instill more credibility to you and your earnings.

Like you said, haters gotta hate! Some people just enjoy being miserable. In this case, they are just jealous of your check.

Hating is what people do when they start losing faith in themselves. Nothing worse than seeing someone going far when you're going nowhere at all.

I haven't had that happen to me, but I think I would do something similar to what you did. Just be careful not to be too arrogant, when dealing with haters.

I've seen several threads (WSOs or Warrior For Hire-threads) here on WF, where people have been very arrogant towards their potential customers. Posts saying stuff like "What a pointless post" and using language clealy indicating, that they think the potential customer is stupid.

Those kinds of posts make me shake my head and never want to do business with the seller.

To be honest with you those kind of shots are really easy to Photoshop. Sad, but true. Skeptics are just that. Skeptical. Good for you for approving the comment, just be careful that you don't come across as a know it all bleep bleep. Silly to ruin your reputation over one stupid comment.

I kinda feel sorry for people who are so limited they can't believe what's possibile if they put their mind to it. Probably won't ever achieve what they really want.

On the other hand there's so much bad stuff out there I understand why some are skeptical but it's no excuse to call you a fraud without hard evidence.

      LOL.

The biggest red flag of a fraud is flaunting his money in public (a.k.a. screenshots). I don't buy any products that have income screenshots.

Not only are Haters gonna Hate, but they also seem to have a lifetime supply of Haterade!

Instead of French Cries, they order extra large servings of Hatertots--which for whatever reason, also seem to be in plentiful supply!

All lame jokes aside, you just gotta move on. Anytime you are creating something or putting yourself out in the public eye you are going to have detractors. I personally don't mind being infamous! Hell it got me through high school, why won't it work in the "real world?!"

Sometimes I really feel like vomiting when I see hater threads popping up on me in the other forums. My first inclination is always to roll up my sleeves and go in for some ass kicking. Answering every bogus charge with facts. Now all I do is scan through them to make sure there isn't any actual legit claims being made by actual customers. If so we politely herd them back to our support ticket system so we can give them specific help for their situation. But usually it's just a bunch of jealous haters showing the ugly side of humanity.

I would recommend Katt Williams' bit on haters, even though he's not really my style.

I somewhat agree with whoever said that the word is thrown around really easily though. Merely disagreeing and asking questions does not automatically create a 'hater', it's rather the tone and the level of commitment lol.

Usually I ignore them... or fire back with facts. I don't waste a lot of time on it though.

In my experience, these people bail as soon as you show you're not going to take their crap.

For example, the other day I had a guy asking to see a sample in a particular market. So I showed him a letter I wrote that did 19% conversions... and pulled in over half a million.

    His response?

"We both know there's no way that made so much money!"

So I sent back a screenshot with the figures. Never heard from him again.

Some people can't comprehend the level of success you have. And instead of try to understand how they can get there, they prefer to believe it's impossible.

Certainly takes the onus off them, right?

You'll always have haters when you become successful, and the more successful you become the more haters you'll have. Learn to enjoy it.

On a side note: There's really no need anymore to photoshop a webpage. There's a javascript code you can type in the address bar, then hit return and you have complete access to the page. You can change anything you want (it mimics the font). You can change and move pictures, etc. It looks just like the real thing. Takes about 1 minute - then you can do a screen shot, and you're done.

I know you didn't do it - just sayin there's those who do quite easily.

Depends on what they are 'hating on'.

If it's hate for the sake of hate then give them your middle finger with a cherry on top.

If it's hate on something that actually needs to be fixed then i listen up and get it fixed.

I once had a buyer who purchased from me, then flamed at me and asked for a refund after heaps of deragotary remarks...so first time I politely refunded him and didn't even say anything afterwards.

Then a few weeks later, after another product released, I had the same buyer telling me how stupid I was and all the negativity and told me that he would never buy from me again, and then asked for a refund....so second time I politely refunded him again and apologized for the product not fitting his bill...

Then a couple of weeks later, the same buyer bought another product from me, then told me the same old crap he told me earlier...this time round I was really pissed, and I told him off not to buy products again afterwhich I banned his IP and domain and emails from purchasing any of my products again....

...then I send him a payment of $20 telling him, that is so that he wouldn't buy from me again...that guy even got the cheek to keep it.... (now don't any warriors even dare pull that one on me coz I'm out of twenties)

But... well, some disguise feelings of envy with hate, because maybe hate is cooler than being a sore loser I guess.
