Newbie Looking for Internet Marketing Plan Guidance

Hi there,

I've just joined the site and I'm excited to learn from you guys. I have read a lot of different posts and have some marketing ideas but truthfully feel a little overwhelmed. I have started a new website (Watchtvshowsonlinenow) a couple months ago and my traffic numbers are horrible. I have tried a couple strategies such as hiring someone from a freelannce site to create links and articles for my site which turned out to be unreleated, unranked and a waste of money.

I've know that relevant links and unique article writting is essential so I started to look for article spinners and thats when I came across this site (I got a link to an internet marketing package someone is sell for $47 a month which includes 8 programs in the package) But I also came across other programs and packages that others are selling as well. This is where I get overwhelmed and and need help

I need to address the following probelms

low traffic
few links
limited budget

I can write unique articles no problems so I just need help as to whats the best course of action (including any programs I should get) to address my problems.

Any help would be very much appreciated

thanks,
Anna

You need to first figure out which keywords you are targeting. Go for something easy first. This will accomplish two things, generate a small amount of traffic/income so your IM bills are taking care of themselves, and build up your confidence so you can tackle tougher keywords.

Take your time and develop a solid strategy and then duplicate it and add to it.

    Best of luck!

Hi, i had a look at your site and it looks nice, you need to establish what keywords your market uses. something like watch tv for free or free movies online. Once you have your keywords start searching for related blog comments and join in on online discussions.

Build your backlinks with your keywords inmind.

Try and keep your articles organial.

        Hi Anna,

First of all congrats on taking action and the willing to learn more to get results, cause trust me the opposite of that is something that most newbies including me had to overcome.

I think you also face on getting the proper knowledge towards building a successful affiliate marketing campaign.

The very first thing to do is understand your market, whether there are enough buyers or people just looking to get free information. I see your site is about watching movies online, I don't know the market very well but try to find ways to that first.

Second once you identify that the market spend cash, then you ought to find out what are keywords that make them buy, you need to understand how to find these "money words". I have come to understand this: there are 3 concepts when coming to the topic of keywords:
        • You can go with a competitive keyword
        • You can go with a long tail phrase keyword
        • You can opt for getting money words
The first two are the most used ways, commonly you will hear about those first when it comes to keyword research. Now I am not speaking negatively about those but based on my experience and lots of researching, I found that it might take you a lot of work and time to get profitable with those. But the third option to keyword research is the best one, cause if you happen to rank then you can at most be sure to expect sales.

The question lies on how to get such money words and be sure that they are money words?. Keyword research is the basis of a profitable affiliate marketing campaign, if you have to then spend most of the time at this stage, without that you are going to have to work really hard and you might end up getting limited success.

I would recommend you get this course called niche profit classroom(by the way, it is not my affiliate link, its a direct link to the program)

They have a very clear step-by-step training for a newbie to create his/her first affiliate campaign and be on the way to make sales fast. Even a way to get and determine moneywords

I wish you all the success Anna :-)

At this point, don't waste your money.

I took a look at your site, and you did a nice job.

Now you need to start segmenting your market. Spend some time thinking about WHY people would want to 'watch tv shows online'.

You have one good one on your home page. See how many more you can come up with.

Then think about how the products you are promoting answer their 'why'.

Write/distribute articles about the problem or reason why, then offer your site as the source of the solution.

Participate in forums related to the various market segments, with your site and a good tag line in your sig.

To avoid looking like I'm shilling, I'm going to PM you with a link to an inexpensive course that may be just what you are looking for. It will not be an affiliate link...

I'll try and give a very basic overview of steps to take...

    1. Find a market that's in need of a solution desprately. Don't stick with the main (mostly highly competative) market, but find a specific sub-niche. This will make it a lot easier to promote a wide range of products targeted on the main niche and several other sub-niches at a later stage. Research this market and take part in it, so you understand what their issues are and what "language" they speak.

    2. Keyword research - find specific keywords for your sub-niche by searching for keywords for the main niche. Make a list of 5 keywords of your sub-niche and 3-5 of the main niche. Use your main keyword (phrase) twice in the website title and also in the desription. Don't bother too much with meta keywords...you can do that later. Also put your main keyword in most (not all) of your main page paragraphs and use related keywords spread accross your content, which is part of "theme writing" and will make a big difference.

    3. Find the true purpose of your website...how exactly you want to help your targeted prospects (and a purpose is NOT a goal). Build your website content around your chosen sub-niche. Make sure it's quality content and use your keywords and related keywords wisely. Mind you...don't add tons of content right away. It's better to add content slower in the beginning...1-3 posts in the first 3 days, 2-5 posts in the next 3 days, then 1 post every day or 2 for a week or 2. Believe me...that's enough and you won't waste a lot of content you can use later on.

    4. Use general methods to spread backlinks with your main keyword as anchor text. Tip: freetrafficsystem.com, build a blog network of related blogs on the free blog websites (blogger.com, wordpress.com, etc.), unique articles to the biggest article sites. Also install following WP plugins: Web Traffic Genius Pro, Onlywire Autoposter, All in One SEO, TF Social Share (contains Google +1 button). Whatever other method you use...

    5. Offer free reports with valuable content...information they want to know about. Write REAL forum posts and reply to others who ask questions, etc.. Everything you communicate to your market in any way will build credibility. Make sure your content sounds from the haert, because people with specific desires know a phoney when they see one... Marketing is mainly showing who you are and what you stand for... a main concept you need to apply in all your communication to your market. Sort of a thin red line people will recognize after reading your stuff a few times.

It'll take some effort and time, but if you want to achieve something you have to act...simple truth in any business.

Never....NEVER build your website or online business around a product you want to promote. It's be a waste of your efforts. It's still one of the biggest mistakes most internet marketers make. Research the market thoroughly and then find the appropriate products your could promote or review, that resonates with your market's desires.

I'm getting out of hand...I don't want to write another ebook on this here... :-)
It's quite temting to go into further detail, but that would take too much of my time.

Does this answer your question ?

      Hi Anna,

I know what it's like with information overload. You know roughly what to do but don't know where to start.
I recommend matts marketing blog the guy who runs it Matt Carter is an ozzie who has a free video marketing course which is fantastic for somebody just starting out. He is genuine and provides a lot of free content. I have no connection to him but can't recommend him highly enough.

=So target some low or medium competitive keywords, build quality backlinks behind them on a regular basis, get higher ranking in Google and get high organic traffic.

=Limited budget? Use Fiverr to get your jobs done (But dont try to get 1k backlinks for $5 in 7 days even...thats can harm your site)

I think that many of the warriors above have done an awesome job. Again I think it is important to keep in mind that it takes some time to get ranked. There was a service called traffic bug - that might help get you listed in searches quickly.

Also video ranks well if you can put some of that on your site as well as frequesnt updates and pings.

Thank you guys for all the great info, I can see this is a fantastic site to be a part of it, I cant wait to provide guidance to others like how you have shown to me.

I'm still digesting the info above but I should have also mention, I'm currently getting under 10 hits a day so obviously I've got a ton a work a head of me.

I think what confuses me the most is that I've read from countless sources about slowly building quality links with unique content which is time consuming and slow (I have no problem putting in the work) but then read about these packages that send out of hundreds of links and book marking with dripping and all sort of stuff i've never heard of that's suppose to 'fool' Google and help your numbers and for someone like me that get under 10 hits a day that seems like the obvious thing to do but I'm not really convinced that it is.

Maybe if there was a step by step plan I could follow I think that would be my best bet. I'm going to search the site and look for a newbie guide (ie step 1 setup social booking marking, step 2 get competitor links step 3 etc)

If anyone know of such a plan and can send me a link or even help me put together my own 10 step plan that would be great. In fact the ultimate would be a plan and the tools needed, so you marketing guys here's an opportunity that i'm sure a lot of newbies would love. However before you set your price seeing that it was my request how about a free version for me and great testimonial for you!

Once again thanks everyone for your help and I really would love an "Ultimate Newbie guide"!

      cheers

    Anna,

At the bottom of the home page there is an error message, part of it which states "this website cannot be found", so you may want to address that as it will have some impact.

Secondly, before you do any keyword reseach, back linking, article marketing, etc. Here as some questions you definitely should ask (if you haven't already):

    Who is my target audience?

    Where do they hang out?

    Who is my competition?

How do THEY reach their target audience?

    Where does my competition advertise?

How do I monetize my website?

How does my website differ from the likes of Hulu.com and other potential
    competitors?

    Hi Anna,

I second what Rod says. I don't think your web site talks to your target audience and converts them to long term followers and buyers.

Here is a link to my free 300+ page "Internet Marketing 101" ecourse that can help you with this and some traffic ideas.

After you go through the ecourse, you should give some thought to finding the right mentor to help you. A mentor can lead you past obstacles and save you a lot of time and money.

    Hi Anna,

I think your site at watchtvshowsonlinenow.com is very well designed.

You may want to consider how it speaks to your target audience. A person who searches for watch tv shows online now, probably wants it now, and is expecting to see something he can click that shows a video immediately.

Recommendation - Have a video they can click and watch immediately. This keeps their interest and then go on to check out whatever you are selling. Search on google "watch tv forums" and find out what people are talking about and what they want to see on your site.

    Quick Tip

Go to SPYFU.COM and put in your competitor site URL. and then you will be able to find out what keywords they are targetting. These are probably the buying keywords and you can start to research on which of them has a reasonable number of views (3,000 to 10,000) and low competition (not so many competing sites, not with wikipedia in number 1 position).

If you want free backlink builders, you can consider imautomator.com or socialmonkee.

Otherwise why not create another site with the same content targeting a different keyword?
