Affiliate Summit East VS West Whats Really Going On?!

Hey has anyone attended west and or east Affiliate Summit?

IF so any feedback you can share? Was considering for 2012 but didn't see anything in the forum so I thought I post real quick.

Paul if I posted this in the wrong place please let me know so I can at least follow it. Thanks

The Affiliate West tickets are on sale now but not sure if it is even worth it.

    Hey Darren,

I was at the event when they had it in NY City last year. To be honest, I wasn't really feeling it. It seemed like a big job fair with companies renting out booths to recruit - but instead of employees, they were looking for super affiliates.

When I look back on it, I didn't really have a great experience because I didn't know many people there. I'm not a great networker to be honest. Usually at IM seminars I see a lot of familiar names and faces, but this wasn't an IM information marketing event. It just showed me how much bigger the affiliate marketing industry is than the circle of Internet Marketing regulars I'm used to seeing. Definitely much bigger than this tiny corner of the Internet commerce world we call the Warrior Forum.

If you have a service, software, or physical product that has mainstream appeal, Affiliate Summit is a great place to meet affiliates. However, if you're looking for people to promote your next WSO or Clickbank info product launch, you can do much better at other events.

    Just my opinion.

Hey thanks Ron.... I kind of felt like that. I was going to network but good point on the agenda part. 7k for a booth in the west version if you have a product. Not really my purpose there.

      Hey Ron -

Did you participate in the Newcomer program at Affiliate Summit and/or attend the various networking events? We have a variety of things going on to help people meet each other.

As far as the people there, there are all sorts of marketers, including a big presence from Clickbank, and their advertisers and affiliates.

      I share Ron's experience...

I went to the East event 2 years ago and if I didn't already know people there then it would've been quite the waste of time IMO - it was good to reconnect with many people, but I did not walk out with any brand new opportunities

There's tons of people hawking their wares and people are eager to do lots of business, but the I.M. niche is more where it's at for connecting with people that you can directly network with and JV with across varied niches.

      I hope that helps

      Best of Luck,

      Justin

    Hi Darren -

I see you live in Dallas - we are going to do a smaller Affiliate Summit in May 2012 in Austin if you want to check that one out before heading to an east or west one.

    Darren

I have done Aff Summit west and I found the talks to be very good. This year the Xbiz conference in LA for the adult industry is around the same week.

If you want to learn some cutting edge stuff come to xbiz in LA and party with me
