Hey All,

If you are a Seth Godin fan, you know he has written several books. If you had to rank the top 3, which would they be and if you can be asked...why?

I am looking for some good reading material.

Thanks for you input!

Cheers,

Dave

I am a Godin fan as well. On my bookshelf I have -

      Permission Marketing
      Purple Cow
      The Big Red Fez
      The Dip
      All Marketers are Liars
      Free Prize Inside
      Meatball Sundae
      Linchpin
      Small is the New Big
      Unleashing the Idea Virus

      I've read them all.

He has written a few others that I haven't read, but of all my books by Godin, I liked Purple Cow, Small is the New Big and Linchpin the best.

I think these are all very applicable to entrepreneurs and Internet Marketing small business owners.

In Purple Cow, Godin talks about the fact that old fashioned marketing (interrupt the consumer with relentless ads) rarely works these days and small business owners have the opportunity to really emerge on the scene in any market by being different ... as in ... being "remarkable." In the Internet age, small businesses can blossom be being a purple cow in a herd of black and brown ones.

Small is the New Big is kind of a followup to Purple Cow. Godin gives 183 ideas or ways of exactly how to become remarkable in your marketing. All these ideas are not new, but Godin's spin on them is worth reading as you'll pick up many little gems you can use in your own small business.

Linchpin is a little different, although Godin still deals with marketing a lot. In Linchpin he suggests that employees need to make themselves indispensable to their companies. It's about marketing yourself and distinguishing your career. I carried that a step further and took it to also mean that if you have a small niche business, you need to make yourself and your business indispensable to the customers in your niche. Godin says you need to become a artist that puts his whole soul and passion into his work. Others will be drawn to you when they recognize the commitment and love you have for what you do.

Anyway, these are my favorite books that could help any Internet marketer immensely - not just Godin fans.

Purple Cow - teaches the importance of being remarkable

(Or maybe I like it coz Seth listed me as one of his "99 Purple Cows")

Tribes - explains how to build your audience and nurture it

Linchpin - tells you what matters and why you should take the lead

btw, I'm a serious fan of Seth Godin's work, even have his $650
    DVD presentation!

    All success
