Am I Doing Something Wrong?

Im currently busy looking for some info on Google and have search settings to 100 results per page. The Problem is i cannot seem to go past the 10th page to find more results.

What am i missing? is there something wrong with my settings?

AFAIK Google only returns the first 1,000
    results.

If you're not finding what you're looking
for in 1,000 results, I'd try an alternative
    search string! ;-)

Yep, there is a limit to the amount of sites Google will display. It makes sense when you think about it; after so many pages of websites, if they haven't been ranked high enough to be listed, they are most likely irrelevent anyway.

So, as John said, if you haven't found it yet, try another search string. The other possibility is, that if its a newly made site you're looking for, then google may not have indexed it yet, and thus it will not show up in the search.

Sorry...i would like to ask something first...how do you know that the things you wanna search for is in the internet in the first place? if you are looking beyond the 1000 results then i guess you already know what you are looking for right? and you can go straight to the website..

    Correct me if im wrong...

I am using a particular string/syntax to find certain info.

But what i dont understand is this:

Google says for e.g. Page 8 of 9350 search results. How come i cannot get to the rest of the results. i.e. past page 10.

      You understand me?

I guess you wanna find out where a particular site is in google ranking, well you could try different search strings like others said.

Google isn't the only search engine. I hope my guess about what you are doing is wrong, but I know from my web stats that spammers find sites by searching for strings contained, for example, in the footers of themes or Wordpress sites.
