I then went on to sell E learning cheat sheets for Health Care providers in the UK (I made around £50 a day) but they all got closed down due to legal action.

Today I run a full time Solo Ad business and a coaching program.

I think my first $1 came from some sort of small affiliate sale!

I'm still doing affiliate marketing but in a bigger, better system that provides not just a front end sale, but upsells/downsells with high ticket products and a sales team. So you basically just drive traffic, grow your list and let the sales team bring in the big bucks!

The front end and upsells give me a nice ROI, and all my paid traffic is covered plus a nice % of profit. Then when the high tickets come in, mostly daily now. I have a whiskey! Cheers! ;-)

More years ago than I care to think about I created an IM product review site, gave honest reviews and then set up a gateway page so that readers had to opt in to see the reviews.

That built a small list to who I sent out a notification of every new review. After a few weeks I got my first $5 affiliate commission. I was so excited.

Mine was an affiliate commission from one of Jonathan Leger's products in paydotcom couple of years ago when clickbank was not yet open in my country - Philippines. Now I make money with Google adsense. Clickbank affiliate products, selling my own product through paydotcom and promoting CPA affiliate offers using mainly all free web properties! even my own salespage is simply using blogger! No need to pay for maintenance costs. I just do this business anytime when I wanted to. :-)

My first dollar online happened almost by accident. Before I even knew what leads were or affiliate programs I joined a program that seemed like a "cool idea", mocked up a website in notepad with the aid of a html book (yep, had no idea even templates existed at the time either) and next thing I knew I had an active downline paying out monthly subscriptions. Here's the funny thing, because I had no knowledge prior to that I wasn't conditioned in any way (and didn't over-analyse anything). I just did what made sense to me at the time and sales just 'happened'. I think my first cheque was 20 something dollars - after a few months the top people in that program pursued me to promote a store as an affiliate they ran selling physical products (I think they were selling things like umbrellas and other apparel) but I didn't go down that route. The reward at the time in dollar terms was low but I found it quite exhilarating.
