Hey all.

Im a total noob when it comes to this internet marketing stuff but I have been wanting to do it for over a year now. My background is healthcare and although it pays the bills (barely) it is far from a passion. As far as internet marketing, I have a few domain names, although none are really being actively used. I've run a few Facebook Ad and Linked in Ad campaigns for some clickbank stuff and committed about $100 to each product. I had thought it would do really well however none of them sold a thing. After reading ICUNs facebook fan page offline domination I am inspired to follow through with his business model especially because I have a lot of good local business contacts but I dont have the $800+ to shell out for dreamweaver or photoshop.
I guess my question to the veteran warriors is... where would you start if you were me - a guy with no html/web skills but a significantly better understanding of it than the average business owner I deal with offline, a desire to learn affiliate marketing but no idea where to begin or how to even start building this coveted list and basically a guy whose already committed a **** ton of money and years to college for a career that is unfulfilling and looking to do online type work?

Thanks in advance

Cheers to all

Mike said it best. Pick one method and then stick with it.

Now it's okay to test...test a couple of different ideas and then see what sticks and works well for you. But I do advise against trying out every method just because it looks cool.

I would start with the "offline" marketing if you're comfortable with that. You'll see a much quicker return than purely online marketing and the money you make can then be invested into trying other things like affiliate marketing, info products, CPA, whatever you have a passion for and are good at. That's the fastest route to making an income without the risk of burning out if it takes you slightly longer than expected to start seeing results online.

yes the membeship section on there is a must read. Instead of getting a person pay you once and then going, get them coming back again and again. Doesnt get much better than that.

You should not start off with so many products. Launching even one product is a full time endeavor when you are a newbie. Social media is an awesome tool to use but you should optimize your website by creating good backlinks for it too.

There is a lot to learn and do before you start earning money, and this forum is a great place to do it. Read through many topics and you will gain a lot of knowledge.

  • Start with single product launch by which you will learn more in Internet marketing. You also have to do more research on Internet marketing and join the War room for much more information. Important of all is to be creative, dedicated and to stay focused. Be patient because you may not realize much money at the beginning.

    Hi,

You can start by blogging and giving tips base on your knowledge in your niche. After building up the readership, you can promote products that are in the healthcare niche.

    Hope this helps.

As far as your problem with not having photoshop and dreamweaver, there's almost always a free option to expensive programs. Such as GIMP is a free program that can be used in place of Photoshop. You can also consider outsourcing your web design if that's something you cannot do on your own.

Don't let these roadblocks stop you. There's always a way around them.

I think I would agree with WikiWarrior. Try offline. You mention you have a lot of local businesses to contact. Start talking to them and trying to solve a problem for them. Don't be over salesy - if they see you are trying to help them you have a better chance of closing them. As also mentioned there are free or cheap alternatives to photoshop. Whatever you do pick stick with it.
    Good Luck

Well first off, there is virtually a free version of everything out there.

Check out http://kompzer.net for HTML editor
Check out GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program for image editing
Also, a new one I recently found out about for images: Photo editor online - Pixlr.com edit image

As for affiliate marketing, I would recommend finding some high quality PLR and giving it away in exchange for an opt in, or email address.

    You'll need 3 tools:

    • Domain name and hosting (use http://LiveCodes.BlogSpot.com for coupons)
    • Squeeze Page Templates (can probably find for free, I recommend hot video squeeze templates)
    • Autoresponder (GetResponse lets you have first 500 for free)

Once you have your stuff built, you can just write article reviews on like Ezine Articles for all the clickbank products in the e-business and e-marketing category until you build a big list and make some solid commissions.

    Thats how I started

I like the suggestion about coaching.

    Also I'd say:

    * pick a niche. The more you can get to know a specific group of people and what they need, the better you can serve them. And that means you can offer more successful and also higher priced products and services.
    * create a vision. Work out where you want to go for your business in 3/6/12 months and 2/5/10 years time. The better you know where you want to go, the more focused you can be.

In all that has been said I will agree that you need a knowledge base to start. Everyone on the net that is seeing success has learned the right ways to market. As a newbie I would recommend that you look at the free course on marketing below.

It will give you the foundations that you need to understand. Knowledge is where you need to start and once you understand the basics then you can market any product or service that you want.

Also this forum is a great place to learn.
