  • All you have to do is sign up. You can promote links through social networks, article marketing, stuff like that, but your best bet if you plan to make any money is through having a website in a specific niche. It's not easy, though, as many others are trying to do the same thing. Have to learn all about SEO, get top-notch content, and after a week or month of no sales don't think you've failed. It can take time, and 99.9% of the time it indeed will take time.
  • Amazon Associates is very easy to get into. Just sign up and you'll be accepted.
  • Hi AJ

While Amazon is easy to sign up for, you do actually have to have a website to actually qualify to sign up for the program and it is this website which is where you will direct your potential customers to to shop for Amazon products.

The website does not have to be elaborate but you cannot be an Amazon Affilaite without first having some sort of website to show them.

Once you have your first site up you can apply and you will be accepted.

I have a free 70 page Beginners guide in my signature which will walk you through step by step also be sure to spend some time researching Amazon which you can do by using the search function on this site and you will find a wealth of information on Amazon Affiliate program.

  • You can randomly enter any website address and You will get entry to amazon.

Hell, you can buy a free .co.cc domain and free hosting and build a squeeze page and add it as your website.

search for amazon affiliate program on google and you will get the link!!

I wouldn't go with Amazon if this is your first time doing affiliate work. Their commission rates are low as hell and you won't see money for awhile.

You can sign up to Warrior Plus for $3.99 for a month and then do some forum promotions with your signature and targeted threads (where allowed to include your affiliate link). Then you will see money quicker and build some promo skills.

    • Couldn't be more wrong. Yes, the commissions are low but volume is the key. Amazon converts like gangbusters.
  • Hi
This was really helpful. I will try what you guys are saying.

  • If you are in the U.S. there are a handful of states where you are not allowed to sell Amazon products, something to do with the state tax laws, however there are ways around it just make sure you do your due diligence.

  • You can also setup a free blogger blog on any topic. Setup 2-3 short blog posts related to the topic and then use that blog's URL when applying for Amazon Associates.

  • You don't have to have your own website right now if you can't afford it. Check out Blogger, Hubpages, or Squidoo. You can promote Amazon products through them. I would advise getting your own domain and hosting as soon as possible though.

Here is a thread that will tell you almost anything you may want to know about Amazon marketing. Grab a cup of coffee first, it's pretty long.

    • Oops, missed this info the first time through the thread,
      questions answered, thanks chrisen!

p.s. Early here, just got my daughter off to school... guess
      I'm still a little bleary-eyed, lol.

  • Search Google for "Amazon Associate" and create an account once your on the official amazon page. There are numerous ways to promote yourself, (i.e. Social Networking, AStore, etc...)
  • Hey Skagenweb

you may of noticed that your post count dropped from 44 to 6 and in case your wondering why its because you posted 44 one liners like the one above and I am sure the mods will drop your post count again if you do not add value to your posts and refrain from the one liners which are a clear attempt to boost your post count and hit the magic 50 posts.

Just thought you might like to know why your post count dropped.

The idea is to become part of the community and add value to the conversations.

    good luck

    • Hello,
I live in England and with the lack of jobs, I don't want to loose the very little I have. I'm torn between affiliate programs that are offering training; there's Wealth affiliate, millionaires society, Roy Moran and now amazon academy. I'm a newbie with thin savings. Which program would you advice? I don't want to fall for another scam

      Thank you
  • If you don't have a website, like mentioned above you can grab a blogger blog and make one with PLR content that has been spun to make it a bit unique. You can also make free websites with Weebly or Webs.com.

If you have a free blog and promote Amazon products you can earn money by driving traffic to your blog. There are various ways to drive traffic - browse through the Forum and you'll come across many ways by which you can drive free traffic.
  • The Amazon a-store can be a pretty cool way to use Amz affiliate program. Let's you set up a 'website feel' that is entirely amazon products (sort of a "niche store"). They don't 'index' well in the search engines though, so you will end up needing to do a lot of active promotion (forums, social networks and the like).
  • You could absolutely set up a free blog and promote amazon products from directly from there.
You can set one up at www.blogger.com or www.tumblr.com
Just an example, there are tons of other free ones..

    Hope it helps!

    • Like most things IM, you're not going to do very well if you're only in it for the money.

Think of a hobby or interest you might have. You could share your enthusiasm and build an Amazon affiliate site at the same time.

I have a friend who loves model trains and gets a ton of traffic to his personal train site. It kills me that he doesn't monetize it. :-)

  • Amazon pulled out of Connecticut last summer,
does anyone know of a legal way around this?

I've read that you can set up a Squidoo Lense and
do it that way. Has anyone else heard of that?

I've also heard that another alternative is to set it
up through a relative living in an Amazon friendly state...
Wouldn't this been seen as fraudulent??
