how to avoid buying urls not marked for de-indexing?

With the google doing max de-indexing of private blog networks there should soon be many black listed sites that is going to be expiring soon. Most of these sites will have a pr rank of 2 or better but of course they have been put on a blacklisted I would assume.

My questions is when registering new domains how would I find the domain history of the site to avoid getting bad domains? If I do get one of these domains how can I convince Google that this url is now legitimate and not a spam site anymore?

My second issue is if purchasing old domains with PR is worth the investment anymore?

You can look it up in Google cache and see if it has been part of a link farm.

You can also check the historic index in Majestic SEO, if you have that service of course...

And yes, it's still worth it to purchase those sites, but keep them for your own network of sites, not some large, high profile link scheme.
