Website Header question!

Simple enough question...is a header required on a website or is it a choice thing? Im using OptimizePress which lets me choose if I have one or not...is it better to have one or would it make no difference at all from an SEO/visual stand point?

if your setting up a blog use a header, if its a squeeze page/landing page you dont really need one unless your looking to brand yourself.

i created it using Power Point, but it only allows you to choose size in cm (i think) not pixels, its either too big or to large, i wanted it at the optimal size that Optimizepress suggest.

I use Paint.net to resize my graphics. It's a free download. Open the graphic you created in PP (I'm assuming you saved it as a jpeg, png or some other regular graphic format.

Once you've opened it, click on image/resize and change the width to 977. Resave it and that should do the job.

I would say that a header for blogs is still a nice thing to do. It's part of the branding process.

But for something like squeeze pages and sales pages, not really. I create and customize all my graphics for squeeze pages and sales letters in photoshop. You need a catchy headline, and you can do it with text and basic photoshop formatting.

If you want to go further, then consider downloading some of the free fonts for photoshop. They are worth it.

Steal some tips from other "guru" marketers and their squeeze pages simply by looking at them.

Blunt honesty: Why are you wasting time doing this stuff yourself? Pay someone to do it for you. You can get a pretty basic header at Fiverr if you don't have access to a regular person to help you with graphics.

Take your PPT header, send it to a Fiverr gig owner and say "Make this prettier, and make it 977 wide x (whatever you want) high.

Then go away and it will come to you when ready.
