How to track your progress on IM

Okay, hello guys, I am a newbie in IM and I am concentrating in particular in affiliate marketing area now. I started a product review site and I am also writing on hubpages and squidoo ( both for money and also backlinking for my product review site). I made a few sales but here are a few questions that I have -

How do I track my progress? How do I know that I am doing it right ? How do i know for sure that I am building a long term income generating site?

How do I set my goals?

Please give me an idea. Because the sales I am making are pretty inconsistent - I get 3-4 sales/day sometimes but the other times I go weeks without a sale. So, I can't really set my goal as 'Making 10 sales per week' because when I don't achieve it, I end up losing my motivation.

Decide where you want to be in 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, 5 years... Create a plan how to reach eact step and follow it. If have questions on any of your items - ask them here on warrior forum.

      Hey there

I don't know if you understand this or not but you are one of those lucky few internet marketers who got sales so early in their career. The most important aspect about your approach to business in my opinion is that you have been taking action to see the results you are seeing at the moment. No doubt they are sporadic, no doubt you are seeing little activity in your paypal/bank account, but you need to keep doing what you are doing right now to increase your income. Keeping your motivation levels up when the chips are down is what will make you a success story in an industry that is filled with lot of failures. One more thing, your income will not grow proportionally with your consistent efforts and time, it will be disproportionally higher. That's because you are building assets as you move on that will keep paying you even possibly for the rest of your life without much of your involvement.

      Keep moving!

Yes. I guess, I need to scale it up and do what works for me

I second that. It had been hard to keep up the motivation because the amount of time and effort you put it dont really match with the results. But seriously, no pain no gain , right?

You know, this is why I love warriorforum- it shakes me up and gives me a whole lot of motivation to work harder.

        Thank you so much .

Personally, I use Profit Cop (link below, not an a affiliate link, and no affiliation with the OP). It lets you chart your progress and compare against your goals. You can also play around with it a little and project how much you're heading towards.

Thought this could help you out a little. It's only $7.00 and was a good buy IMO.
